Make America white again

Donald Trump must have been worried that his dog whistling was not loud enough.  So he has gone full trumpian and attacked young female Democrat politicians including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and has accused them of being leftists and telling them they should go back to where they were born to the country they were born in which in AOC’s case is the Bronx. And two of the others, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley are also American born.

Is this an example of six dimensional chess playing and boxing the Democrats into picking a radical candidate?  Or it an example of the POTUS being a dick?

Here is how it started:

And it got worse with Trump tweeting this earlier today:

Jacinda Ardern has responded in an appropriate fashion.  From Radio New Zealand:

Ms Ardern told Morning Report there’s no place for comments like that and she is proud that the opposite exists in New Zealand.

“Usually I don’t get into other people’s politics, but it will be clear to most people that I completely and utterly disagree with him.

“I’m quite proud that in New Zealand we take the opposite view, that we take the view that our Parliament should be a representative place, it should look and feel like New Zealand, it should have a range of different cultures and ethnicities and never should a judgement be made about the origin of anyone, and their right therefore to be in Parliament as a representative.

“We should celebrate our diversity, we do in New Zealand, I’m proud of that and so I obviously take a very different view to President Trump.”

Theresa May and Justin Trudeau have also condemned Trump’s statements.

Clearly there is an immature juvenile currently living in the White House. With a twitter account.

So is Trump playing six dimensional chess or is he just being a dick?

Love the way these four have specifically said..'don't take the bait' as I mentioned elsewhere, this is because these four Woman are part of the Progressive wing of the DNC that actually have a real Left Wing answer to Trump, unlike the establishment DNC who plainly do not, all they have is..be scared of Trump, vote for us, that's it, nothing more.

They are all about keeping an eye on the big prize, and not being distracted by this race baiting.

    Bernie 2020.

It’s distractions and entertainment as all clowns are trained, especially when a circus act goes bad or the next ones being setup.

Those insane and dishonest tweets are not written by Trump, they're written by Stephen Miller.

  6. McFlock 6

The funny thing is that not only is AOC from the Bronx, her ancestry is Puerto Rican. As in "part of the USA". But yes, a distraction.

When I was studying a particularly disturbing paper at uni, the best advice was to not work on it before going to bed, as it fucks up your dreams something chronic. This now applies to Twitter. Before going to bed last night I was informed:

    • not a single Republican rep had so much as sniffed at the Potus' racism (again). There used to be one or two, now everyone is in line with the white supremacist
    • ICE was conducting midnight harrassment of the homes of suspected undocumented migrants, but like vampires they can't come in unless invited
    • some self-professed "nice guy" travelled a thousand miles to decapitate a teenager he'd become fixated on.

    Fuck this species.

  7. Shadrach 7

He's trying to play 6 dimensional chess AND he's a dick. Mind you, he's got some company.

Omar described terrorists killing 3,000 people as "some people did something". She claimed that CAIR was "…founded after 9/11", when it was actually founded in 1994. And she accused a well known Jewish White House advisor of being a 'white nationalist". What is it about US politics that attracts such plonkers? She’s just one of the reasons Trump will win again in 2020.

PS I do love the pic.

You mean a well known etc etc couldn't be a wossname shadders?

    • joe90 7.2

Miller's loathing of immigrants and brown people makes him a nativist/white nationalist and his religious background doesn't excuse him. And he is a republican…

      • Shadrach 7.2.1

He is a Jew. I have no idea what religion he is. Describing him as a 'white nationalist' is about as stupid as describing the 911 attacks as "some people did something", or getting the facts about CAIR wrong. AOC is just plain thick. Ilhan Omar, on the other hand, is an anti-Semite, who is just smart enough to be dangerous.

        • Morrissey 7.2.1.1

Your bloodyminded ignorance never fails to astonish me.

        • joe90 7.2.1.2

His own family regard Miller as an extremist and unlike the dud from Wharton who's too fucking embarrassed to release his grades, both AOC and Omar have achieved scholastically.

I shudder at the thought of what would have become of the Glossers had the same policies Stephen so coolly espouses—the travel ban, the radical decrease in refugees, the separation of children from their parents, and even talk of limiting citizenship for legal immigrants—been in effect when Wolf-Leib made his desperate bid for freedom. The Glossers came to the U.S. just a few years before the fear and prejudice of the “America First” nativists of the day closed U.S. borders to Jewish refugees. Had Wolf-Leib waited, his family would likely have been murdered by the Nazis along with all but seven of the 2,000 Jews who remained in Antopol. I would encourage Stephen to ask himself if the chanting, torch-bearing Nazis of Charlottesville, whose support his boss seems to court so cavalierly, do not envision a similar fate for him.

Rather than post what other people think about him, post some evidence that this Jewish man is a white nationalist. You haven't yet, so I seriously question whether you know what you're talking about.

            • Psycho Milt 7.2.1.2.1.1

You don't accept that his promotion of white nationalist policies makes him a white nationalist? I'd be willing to bet you'd accept someone's promotion of socialist policies made them a socialist, regardless of their ethnicity.

              • McFlock

I'm really beginning to lean towards the "-adjacent" suffix with these things.

e.g: "Oh, his promotion of white nationalist policies might not provide incontrovertible proof beyond your completely unreasonable level of doubt that he meets your highly specific and not generally-shared definition of 'white nationalist', but he's sure as shit white nationalist-adjacent".

              • Shadrach

I guess I'm showing skepticism, because no-one seems to have quoted anything he has actually said himself.

                • McFlock

Even if that were the case (and the idea that every thread on the USG starts as a blank slate is pretty tiresome, but whatevs), the dude works directly for a racist president as part of a racist government that involved and involves white supremacists and other nazi-adjacents utilizing mass detention of civilians without trial, over-capacity concentration of prisoners without adequate food, water, or hygiene. Oh, and a system that kidnapped children with no plans or ability to reunite them all with their parents.

                  He's fucking part of it.

                  • Shadrach

A lot of people work for the President. Are you telling me they are all racist?

A lot of people work for the US government. Are you telling me they are all racist?

On the child separation policy, you do realise that separating people who commit crimes from their children is actually commonplace, and is a consequence of those people committing those crimes. One comment attributed to him in your reference is ““No nation can have the policy that whole classes of people are immune from immigration law or enforcement. … The message is that no one is exempt from immigration law,””. That isn’t white nationalist. It is entirely correct.

Look just post a quote from him that shows he is a white nationalist. It surely can’t be that hard.

                    • McFlock

I'm saying that anyone who works closely for an explicit racist and helps him implement explicitly racist policies is at the absolute minimum racist-adjacent. If he gets tarred with the same racist, white nationalist, or neonazi brush as his boss or colleagues (or former colleagues like Bannon), he shouldn't have stood beside them.

Fuck that guy, fuck the midnight detention squads, and fuck the concentration camps.

                    • Shadrach

McFlock I have worked for people over the years whose views I have strongly objected to. I once worked for an Indian nationalist who believed all faiths other than the Hindu faith should be outlawed in India. That didn't make me an Indian nationalist.

                    • McFlock

1: don't go holding yourself up as some moral example. You're a broken unit.

2: no, it makes you someone prepared to work for and alongside someone whose policies were akin to the chch fuckwit's, just with different labels.

3: if you were helping them enact those policies, it would have made you someone who was helping a religious fascist achieve their fascist goals.

4: "nationalism" is things like wanting independence. "Banning all other religions except my specific choice" is closer to "fascism" than "nationalism".

Miller isn't some cop or bureaucrat who was in a lower tier role for 20 years before this administration. He works directly for the president to implement these policies. Fuck that guy.

                    • Shadrach

McFlock we've been here before. You detests the rule of law. You detest due process. You believe all the members of one people group should be believed on the basis of their genitalia. You believe people should be considered guilty before proven innocent, but only if you don't like their politics. You're a sick puppy. You really are.

                    • McFlock

At least I've never worked for a religious supremacist or ethnic supremacist to help them achieve their supremacist goals. It's a low bar, but I've met it so far. Miller has not.

                    • Shadrach

And of course you can read Miller's mind? Understand his every motive? Good for you.

                    • McFlock

He works closely with and for a racist to implement racist policies. He is at the very least racist-adjacent. If he didn't like racists or their policies, he'd work somewhere else. You don't work directly for the president of the usa because nobody else will have you. He's got options. Yet he chooses to work for a racist to implement racist policies. His actions are racist.

                      Fuck that guy.

                    • Shadrach

"He works closely with and for a racist to implement racist policies."

I'll give you newsflash. It's a free world. We can work for whomever we like. We don't have to agree with everything our employer stands for.

                    • McFlock

He can work for whomever he wants, more than most people in paid employment. That's my point. He chooses to work for a racist and implement racist policies.

                      Fuck that guy.

                    • Shadrach

"He chooses to work for a racist and implement racist policies."

He chooses to work for someone who is employing people who do what he does. Come up with something he has actually said that is racist (you're spinning in circles to avoid to that) and you might have some credibility.

                    • McFlock

He chooses to work for someone who is employing people who do what he does.

Yes. That's what I said. He's being employed by a racist to help implement racist policies.

Maybe he feels bad about it, maybe he feels happy about it. But he still chooses to do it. So he's the sort of guy who chooses to help racists implement racist policies. If someone thinks that he's a racist, then he shouldn't act so much like a racist.

                    • Shadrach

So still no actual examples, just a rant.

                    • McFlock

His choice of employment is as good as a quote. By his works he is known.

                    • Shadrach

"By his works he is known."

                      Good sidestep. I am impressed.

                    • McFlock

                      Here's another one for you:

                      actions speak louder than words.

                    • Shadrach

                      "…actions speak louder than words."

Well that's convenient, considering you can't find any of his words to back you up.

                    • McFlock

I said he's at the very least a racist-adjacent person because he chooses to work directly for a racist and help them implement their racist policies.

                      All of that is true.

Whether he uses the n-word is not something I've bothered to look up.

            • joe90 7.2.1.2.1.2

I seriously question your ability to parse white nationalist and racist as classifications of ideologies.

    • Morrissey 7.3

Stephen Miller is a white nationalist, i.e. a racist.

      • Shadrach 7.3.1

        Morrisey is a plonker.

See I can make wild unsubstantiated claims too. In between self promoting your blog, do you operate in a fact free zone?

        • Psycho Milt 7.3.1.1

To be fair, Morrissey's comments demonstrate a consistent inability to distinguish between his personal opinions and objectively-demonstrated facts. It's not like this particular topic is unusual or anything.

          • Morrissey 7.3.1.1.1

OMG! Cozying up to fools like Shatrat now Milt? How sad.

While you're there, buddy, could you explain to the rest of us how my rather restrained characterization of Miller as exactly what he is is anything other than an "objectively-demonstrated fact"? Have I missed the part where Miller did not write something disgusting and racist?

By the way, did you know Shadrach rang up George Galloway last year? He was posing as an insane person called “Laura”.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikWyNJobKuc

          • Shadrach 7.3.1.1.2

Yes I've noticed he does have that shortcoming.

        • Morrissey 7.3.1.2

There are hundreds of easily accessed examples of Miller writing and speaking white racist bilge. That's a fact—although of course it's not accepted by you. But then you are on record cheering the murder of doctors, nurses and babies in tents, as well as repeating Trump's puerile racist slandering of young American congresswomen.

Wild unsubstantiated claims are all you do. That's all you have to offer.

Again I ask you: why do you bother?

          • Shadrach 7.3.1.2.1

So post one. With a link.

            • Morrissey 7.3.1.2.1.1

No, I'm not going to humour you any more than I would humour you by posting evidence that the earth is round.

              • Shadrach

And yet you claimed there were 'hundreds'. You're good at the self promotion, not so good at actually supporting your claims.

                • Adrian Thornton

Just google up 'White house press conference Miller' where you will find Miller robustly defending Trumps racist immigration policies…so either Miller is himself a racist for defending overtly racist policies, or he is just completely immoral and does it because it his his job, either way he is a piece of shit.

But then it sounds like your own internal moral compass is broken, so I am guessing you won’t be able to process this fact, so am probably wasting my time no doubt.

                  • Shadrach

Explain to me what is racist about enforcing border controls and immigration laws? Do you think the NZ government allows undocumented, illegal aliens to freely enter this country?

                  • Morrissey

Adrian, you're attempting to argue in good faith with someone who has no intention other than to distract and derail.

                    Don't waste your time.

                    • Adrian Thornton

Yeah I can see that, funny thing is these idiots are the ones who scream and moan the loudest when the government does anything they think curtails their rights at all..just like a big bunch of babies usually.

                    • Morrissey

Actually, Adrian, this particular fellow is a bloodyminded supporter of governments doing whatever the hell they like. He loudly cheers the government that employs snipers to kill and maim protestors, as well as to kill and maim doctors, nurses, ambulance workers, journalists, and children.

What people like him are opposed to is not government; as authoritarians they support the most brutal and unrestrained government actions. What they oppose is democracy.

        • Well here's my claim, in case anyone come back and reads these articles a day or two later, Shadrack you're backing the wrong horse, you don't know when to back down. You are a plonker.

Since 3 of the four women he is attacking were born in the USA, and did not come from anywhere else, it amuses me that Trump would describe the USA in this way.

He appears to be doing his best to realise his description, as well.

  12. Macro 12

Am going to post this whole because I believe it sums up the whole debacle very well from the point of view of those in America who have not completely lost their moral compass. This is from the husband of Kellyanne Conway a counsellor in the WH .

To this day, I can remember almost the precise spot where it happened: a supermarket parking lot in eastern Massachusetts. It was the mid-1970s; I was not yet a teenager, or barely one. I don’t remember exactly what precipitated the woman’s ire. But I will never forget what she said to my mother, who had come to this country from the Philippines decades before. In these words or something close, the woman said, “Go back to your country.”

I remember the incident well, but it never bothered me all that much. Nor did racial slurs, which, thankfully, were rare. None of it was troublesome, to my mind, because most Americans weren’t like that. The woman in the parking lot was just a boor, an ignoramus, an aberration. America promised equality. Its constitution said so. My schoolbooks said so. The country wasn’t perfect, to be sure. But its ideals were. And every day brought us closer to those ideals.
To a young boy, it seemed like long ago that a descendant of slaves had prophesied, five days before I was born, that his “four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” We would be there soon enough, if we weren’t there already. I couldn’t understand why colleges required applicants to check boxes for race or ethnicity. I’m also part Irish and Scottish. What box should I check? Should I check one at all? Will that help me or hurt me? Never mind, not to worry, those boxes would someday soon be gone.

How naive a child could be. The woman in the parking lot — there were many more like her, it turned out. They never went away. Today they attend rallies, and they post ugliness on Facebook or Twitter. As for the victims of historic racial oppression, no matter how much affirmative action (or reverse discrimination, or whatever you want to call it) the nation offered, they, too, had resentments that never went away — in part because of people like the parking-lot woman. Those resentments often led to more, not fewer, charges of racism as the years passed — charges of institutional racism and “white privilege.”

Which, in turn, bred another kind of resentment: Why, asked many an unaffluent white parent, who may never have uttered a racial slur or whose ancestors may never have held anyone in bondage, does my child have to check a box to her detriment, or be accused of “white privilege,” when the only privilege she has received came from the sweat of my brow? Why are people like me being called racist, when all I’ve done was mind my own business?

What’s just as bad, though, is the virtual silence from Republican leaders and officeholders. They’re silent not because they agree with Trump. Surely they know better. They’re silent because, knowing that he’s incorrigible, they have inured themselves to his wild statements; because, knowing that he’s a fool, they don’t really take his words seriously and pretend that others shouldn’t, either; because, knowing how damaging Trump’s words are, the Republicans don’t want to give succor to their political enemies; because, knowing how vindictive, stubborn and obtusely self-destructive Trump is, they fear his wrath.

But none of that is good enough. Trump is not some random, embittered person in a parking lot — he’s the president of the United States. By virtue of his office, he speaks for the country. What’s at stake now is more important than judges or tax cuts or regulations or any policy issue of the day. What’s at stake are the nation’s ideals, its very soul.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/

ps I don't completely agree with George Conway here – what is written above is his view of the matter. I feel he still has some way to go to a full understanding, but he is right wrt the poor behaviour of Republican congress representatives. By their silence they condone Trump’s poor behaviour, and are as much to blame.

trump makes many obnoxious comments not a few but is that how we should treat our women nah! we don't want to be like that he trumpet needs to remember where he came from and at least one of his wives came through the back door but wealthy people like him have very short memories can someone save us from this man

  17. Dean Reynolds 18

The 2 American demographic trends that terrifies Trump & his fellow pale, stale, males who dominate the institutions of the USA, (Supreme Court, Congress, Military, State Govenors, Wall St, etc.) is firstly, the millenials will out number the baby boomers in voting strength as from 2020 & secondly, within 10 – 15 years, people of colour will form a majority of the USA's population

Time is running out for the middle aged, white, male cohort who've controlled the USA since George Washington. As the electoral strength of the non white millenials grows, expect the hysteria & race baiting of Trump & his fellow lizards to reach fever pitch – they're on the wrong side of history & they know it
