Except for last election though? Wasn't that percentage in the 20's?
Why is celebrating church an important part of our culture. People complain about Luxon belonging to a church and the power it might hold, but this church is different?
"Deputy opposition leader Paula Bennett says the alleged victims of assault thanked her for naming people who she says knew about the allegations in Parliament." https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/labour-assault-complaints-paula-bennett-says-alleged-...
For clarity then, Bennett confirmed she was given the names and timelines by the complainants who came to her. Verification is simply silence from the complainants i.e. Bennett accurately presented their information.
Agree the process is brutal for women/girls. I have been at the coal face supporting victims of abuse, it is just not a case of making a statement to the police that's the easy part (not that any part of the process is easy). If Labour had listened and ...
Bennetts source is the same Ardern relied on today to terminate her President. [lprent: If you don't want to comment related to the comment you are replying to, then you are trolling and don't want to be here. Bye. ]
"There are so many senior people within the Prime Minister's office and other senior ministers that know and knew the extent of it that it is inconceivable that [Ardern] wasn't told," Bennett told reporters. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c...
"The investigation was screwed up, and I still think it's 50/50 that the reviewers viewed themselves as restricted solely to reviewing the investigation, rather than raising issues with Ardern." That's a longbow to draw but ok let us accept they binned any...
"And what does Jacinda’s brand have to do with getting anything done about these allegations?" Once the alleged victims went public - nothing. Its as you allude to political fallout. It is clear the complainants believed that the Labour Party after hearing...
Both Bomber and Cactus Kate agree on one point - brand Jacinda is in mortal danger of imploding. Depending on which view you tend to lean toward either Jacinda has no idea of what is happening within her own inner circle (Bombers take) or she does and ...
Well done Anne for showing how a political party should handle allegations of sexual assault. National offer support and advice, Labour pretend nothing happened and cover it up. The victims frustrated by the cover-up go public to be heard some 2 months ago...
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/09/emails-show-labour-was-sent-details-of-sexual-assault-allegations-against-party-staffer.html The Labour hierarchy knew 6 months ago about the sexual abuse allegations, it is just not pausable that Ardern was ...
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/115693354/former-labour-party-volunteer-says-he-raised-allegations-with-party-president-nigel-haworth Let us see how Haworth and Ardern spin there way out of this now. I know who the accused is and how he is integral to ...
It is a sideshow, Winston has a weak case he will struggle even in a civil court. To survive in 2020 he needs to give the appearance to his voter base that he can work with either National or Labour. The last thing Winston wants is a public court case ...
The police are only there to protect JLR and others (mental health workers)...only a mental health doctor can commit a person into care (if it is not voluntary). JohnSelway is correct.
"Who authorised the actual sending in of the police to take him away, presumably against his will if the police were involved." The police would have been on hand to ensure the safety of JLR and the mental health professionals who would have elevated JLR. ...
Hey, no issue with all the hype around the last week or so, plenty of ammo to fire at National etc. But you do realise this is Lusk / Slater behind JLR and their utu against the National party when they were shown the exit door. Slater mentioned "2 ...
"What JLR has said so far should already have triggered a royal inquiry into political donations and influence buying." Why do you think Labour are so quiet? If you want a very obvious one then look no further than NZF and Winston re - racing and fisheries...
"if the donors were members of the Chinese Association he headed then it should have been in that groups name." As I pointed out yesterday if National had recorded it as 1 donation of $100k (under the above group's name) when in fact it was a number of ...
There is a larger Chinese population then Indian in NZ. They all, of course, come under "Asian ethnic groups" Therefore having a higher % of Chinese as MP's makes logical sense.
They would pass it back onto the consumer. Freight costs would increase. So either a subsidy or price increase...take your pick.
Interesting points JessNZ I will have a look.

Don't be an idiot Ed...confidentiality agreements are a two-way street. Maybe focus back on the Middle East/Russian stuff buddy.
Ha Winston getting owned by Finlayson this afternoon...no doubt Winnie will console himself with a nice Glenlivet single malt or two tonight. "Mr Finlayson, a former lawyer, has hit back at his comments with a sarcastic post on his official Facebook page."...
"By some miracle that problem went away." They went back and made sure they complied with the act...in sorting out addresses etc. Dukeofurl I think you can discount pretty much everything JLR has alleged. It is now clear the person that JLR is...and his ...
Bridges acted as soon as he was made aware of the allegations 3 weeks ago. JLR going to the back benches. Even then he was not aware of just how bad it was until the women went public this morning. To which Bridges said JLR would have been booted out weeks...
"Its clear they knew they were dealing with ‘straw donors’ to make up the $100k." You are correct in the sense that "IF" National had recorded it as 1 donation of $100k. However, they did not and it was recorded in the amounts as received.
Here is Andrew Geddis take on it so far... https://thespinoff.co.nz/politics/18-10-2018/was-that-100k-national-donation-legal-or-not/ And I heard this afternoon that Zhang Yikun has said he made no personal donation of any amount. It was from individuals ...
"Hope this clarrifies." Yes, it does thanks.
Simon as you have touched on in your piece above, our Chinese/Asian friends play the long game. I see it almost every week with my Chinese friends - how they do business, raise their children etc. Of course, the Chinese Govt wants to assert its influence ...
