I've found the answer to my archives question/problem. I have stuck to the name greywarshark ever since the Nicky Hager attack. And used greywarbler elsewhere but got mixed up.
lprent Has anyone had trouble with their archives? I have nothing after April 18th.
@Tautoko Mango Mata OK you have done a lot of thinking on TPPA and other things. So what would your broad prescription be to build a new model? A new political party.? I think forming co-operatives with energised people doing useful things together as a ...
lprent My archives aren't working. The last item that shows is from 18 April And something that often happens is that when I press on comment list on right wing I don't get taken to the highlighted comment. I just pressed one in Open Mike and got taken to ...
Leftie Thanks for your response. It seems you have a genuine goal. But I suggest that it is dated and too simple for today's problems. Key out, will give only a minor relief. I remember there was a union leader who I thought should go and hoped for one ...
Sounds good CV really intelligent and far-seeing actually. But who fits those adjectives? The best strategic planning may come from people sitting in a plain little room with the minimum of requirements, mugs tea and coffee bags and crackers and cheese for...
I don't think much of your name Mainlander. It implies that you speak for South Islanders - you do not. Most informed people are aware of the penchant (you can look that one up) of pollies to appoint their own men and stalwart women to boards, tables, ...
On Bowalley Road commenter Guerilla Surgeon wrote about the company he used to work for when he made a good basic living for his young family at $1.56 an hour. He visited the town again and his son now works for the company and this is what he found. http...
Our wealthy and comfortable have had a Mussolini moment that goes on and on - you know the saying - that he at least got the trains running on time. NZ used to be better than we are now. The left lost its way and put the driving power for the country in ...
@Leftie I wasn't trying to be witty I was trying to make a point in a different way than the often mundane commentary here. There is so much circular argument, vacuous arguing with RW, and the propaganda about Labour goes on. From Gnats they say you did it...
@Olwyn +100 Points right on target.
I noted the finding below that was reported by the human resources research team in the link. I would have thought that the last thing that Poorer Benefit would want is staff who 'thought rules were more important than ideas'. I remember one job I read of ...
Its estimated that up to 6000 Myanmar people have been forced to leave because of religion - Muslim in a Buddhist country, although they have been there about 1000 years. I think that's what I read. Anyway they are being pushed out to sea because no-one ...
Says Judge Gosman from his elevated Bench - you poor people are much the same as those in other parts of the world. Not worse, so what are you complaining about. I've thought this all out while I've been sitting in my comfortable situation and as I see it,...
@ Clemgeopin at 15.1.1 It occurs to me that the idea that people should pay CGT on a family home whatever the value, would be a hit on the ordinary homeowner. If they are selling to go to another property, they may be just exchanging similar houses as they...
Thinking about housing and banks creating credit. Pete Young commenting on NZTalk on Radionz says that Switzerland and Iceland are looking at reducing banks' powers to create credit. A youtube link has been provided but is in another language and only ...
So true. Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that. George Carlin Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/...
Listening to the plea to provide adequate funds for the Mt John observatory. The Min in charge of Science is Joyce. Perhaps he can get a perk from the job and get a brain transplant or get his turbo-charged or an add-on. It probably doesn't look like a ...
Chris Trotter is pondering on the UK SNP win. He quotes an old Labour friend who feels bereft, good solid long term members have been thrown out to be replaced by mere striplings. Trotter points out that Tony Blair got Clause IV thrown out of their ...
If you are a Whangarei resident you will have heard about the Hundertwasser project. It will be a huge tourist attraction in your city that will attract money-spending people from all over NZ and indeed the world and increased employment. In two days the ...
No it's called the Westminster democratic parliamentary system of government. This term comes from the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Parliament - (usually initial capital letter) the legislature of Great Britain, ...
Who was this Charisma? His wife or girlfriend?
Looking at an old BBC History magazine I saw they were recalling an earlier September attack on New York than 2001. This was in 1920 when 'a cart packed with explosives was detonated' outside the headquarters of JP Morgan. The perpetrators, causing 38 ...
I'm looking at heat exchange from brick paved back yards. Wikipedia on geothermal energy is interesting. What other countries do to use this for domestic use rather than just industrial as we do is interesting. (I don't think Maori use, which extends back ...
Why would we want to follow the policies of a country that elected someone who might be related to a 20th century family called Abbottini, neighbours of Mussolini?
Earlier I read here that local elections have been held on the same day. This most important matter of the ruling political party of Britain surely deserves its own day and a clear head on the matter, not to have distracting but important local decisions ...
UK Labour is a wraith hanging in the air, clanking its chains, haunting its old stamping grounds, unable to leave because of past tragic events that have bound it to the earth in its present limbo-land. NZ Labour also? Wikipedia on Ghosts " The deliberate ...
@ ropata "people just do illogical things sometimes," Like bother to put precious brain power in jousting with such as Gormless whose pseudonym indicates he is laughing at this blog and all those that sail in it, every time he types his redundant lines of ...
I looked up joe90s link. What a sad thing it is to have been right about Whanau Ora. It's what I thought too, and not me just being cynical. It had happened before that money spent has not hit the target. I liked the spirited anecdote from Vicky about ...
Asking the hard questions eh Phil. They bounce off a complacent impervious surface. And by the way don't take comments about drugs etc to heart and bother to reply to justify yourself. You know it's only a smoke-screen to avoid looking clearly at the ...
I didn't realise how well embedded we were in the English speaking Quinad till I heard about the Five Eyes spying. Now while looking at wikipedia on passports I see - "the Five Nations Passport Group, an international forum for cooperation between the ...
