Setting the Partner Income to zero, and Children/Dependents to zero, makes you single by definition. Of course, that also pretty much guarantees you get nothing back unless you are over 64 and can get NZ Super. Nonetheless I will clean up that page tonight and remove the ambiguity. The only area I'd like to see real improvement on sooner rather than later is the "pretty graphs" which so far only seem to show family effective tax rate. At the risk of sounding like a redneck with a sense of entitlement, I'd be interested to see a graph for single people without dependants because this is my main gripe with Labour's "tax relief" - ie, you get some back if you've popped out some sprogs, but to hell with you if you haven't.
