   “Mr Fixit” has no intention of fixing Novopay for teachers. He is trying to make the situation so intolerable in order to create a crisis point at which he will bring out Bulk Funding as the solution.

         It was pretty clear early on that it was fundamentally and structurally not up to the task, and only a complete re-design would make it so.

           It is a shame that the Novapay contract was signed up under Labour. If National had canned it when they first got in, Labour would have complained about the cancelling of their contract. Instead, National had to try and make the best of a bad deal, and inflicted all this pain on the teachers and the school admins.In many ways, it would have been better if Labour hadn’t signed up to the contract before the election, and left it to National… then Labour would have had crowing rights about the mistakes that have occurred.

             But Fluffy it was not the signing of the contract that caused all of the problems. It was the decision to go live even though there were a myriad of documented problems at the time the decision was made.

               Who says “go live” unless all critical issues are resolved? By the very description, if even one critical issue isn’t solved, the system is guaranteed to fail.

               And apparently Mr Fixit didn’t fix it.

     So Bridges will continue to be a clueless bluffing narcissistic bully, Joyce will carry on fixing nothing, Parata won’t stop grinning at herself in the mirror, Bennett will keep on pushing beneficiaries under buses and claiming all the blood means she’s doing a great job, English will continue to find new ways to fudge numbers, Brownlee will keep on shafting Christchurch residents, and Key will keep telling us that everything is great, that it’s a media beat up, that it’s all Labour’s fault, and that Labour done it too.

         Yes that is because John key is the most honest, intelligent, popular leader in a generation, with the highest approval ratings of any leader in the western world, and to top it off running an economy that is the envy of the OECD. Keep up the obsession. Because it won’t work. It will simply guarantee a National victory.

         Of course given the extremely peculiar electoral system adopted by New Zealand, National could indeed lose Government which would have intelligent commentators gasping in disbelief.

     It is not a public company. However its Directors will need to sign off the financial statements. It is a prediction market. Insider information is absolutely encouraged.
