Apparently Cameron Slater is going to “out” the identity of who got the emails off his system. What is the bet that he has it wrong – again?

His track record is that he virtually always gets it wrong when he “outs” people. Look at his “outing” of Simon Pleasants – wrong. And he is always wrong on our authors.

So far he has outed DotCom for this break in. Yeah right…. Next up is ?

Poor bugger. The stats on that reeking stupid fuckwit Cameron Slater is that he will pick the wrong person. I hope that someone competent has been hand holding the gibbering child. It’d be better if it was accurate for a change.

 

Updated: Yep. It is all DotCom’s friends provided by an txt from DotCom to ex-employee Wayne Tempuro that refers to ? Well nothing much. It reads to me like something related to his case against the state.

      I am a member of Labour,which means to remain a member that I will pay a membership fee of about $20. However I will be party voting Green this year as Labour lost my party vote at the conference in 2012.     I couldn’t see anything in those text that was in any way revealing to this particular case. So far nothing from Whale that links Dotcom to Hager.

    Though, just as an aside, if it transpired that it was Dotcom or flunkies related to Dotcom, that would certainly shake things up even more.

      I couldn’t see anything in those text that was in any way revealing to this particular case.

      In fact I read it the opposite. In the most “incriminating” texts Dotcom says they have been “collecting evidence and witnesses for 3 months. I hired professionals to get me information. We are preparing a case against everyone involved.”

      Slater’s hypothesis is that Dotcom would hack his server, steal his emails and then front up to court with them expecting to use them as evidence.

      How likely is that?

    The plot thickens, and what a dirty messy plot. I am well into the book now and have to stay I am shocked at the depths Cameron and his cronies have sunk to. Seems to me too, that those crying the loudest usually have something to hide! The role of Ede is very interesting given his position, we need to know more about him. I am sure we are not at the end of this and tomorrow morning will bring a good deal more claims and counter claims. Meanwhile, let’s vote Positive.

    Slater isn’t stupid, he’s an intelligent chap with an awfully dark narcissistic streak. His depression probably stems from his tattered conscience reminding him what a foul person he has become. But that inconvenient voice of morality has been effectively silenced by his growing ego and nasty schemes against political foes.

        We have asked labour to come out and deny this.

          It was more-or-less immediately refuted by Hager, who said that there were zero messages from NZLP MPs in the material. Susan Woods’ body language was interesting: she knows Hager is 100% credible.

          I liked the way she correctly characterised a lot of Slater’s effluent as “hate-speech”.

            Sure but he may not have had all the emails himself and the leak could have redacted everything but National material so that Hager hasn’t seen any means nothing.

            I would find it very surprised indeed if that over the period in question there was no communication from anyone identifiable from Labour or the left side of the fence.

            I don’t doubt him, but the fact there were no messages from Labour MPs in the material he was provided with isn’t the same thing as ‘refuting’ Slater’s claim to have had messages from Labour MPs.

    What is the point in you being so viscous? Of course Slater was going to come back with an explanation for it all and KDC does often make himself an easy target… But walk the talk, mate. Don’t call someone a ‘reeking stupid fuckwit … gibbering child’ even if they deserve it. Don’t fan the flames of Slater’s utu hunt, the public will just grow tired of both sides when really the Left should be welcoming people with open arms and as much transparency as possible.

        This blog, of course, is nothing like the charade of WO – and Slater is a disturbing individual with no journalistic merit, to say otherwise is a joke. I was mainly just commenting on the language, if I didn’t know any better (which most people unfortunately don’t) I would think the message was nasty and similar and just close my browser.

        Sorry if my comment about Left blogs likely to be used against Labour’s positive party ‘line’ was out of place. But all it would take is a slip up/false claim/distraction … some ‘scandal’ about the Left using blogs too and a lot of hard work will be undone.

                What I am saying is that the txts look to me like they are related to some upcoming court case. They simply don’t look like they have anything to do with hacking. Ask yourself this. Can you point to anything in them that doesn’t look like it is to do with a court case.. And can you point to anything in them that says it must be hacking.

                It just looks like one of the many cases that dotcom has.

                I suspect that Cameron is deluded if he thinks this proves anything at all. Paranoid desperation appears to be seeping from his every utterance at present. He also seems to think that everyone is against him. Look at the desperate attempts to join up all of his enemies in a vast conspiracy.

      Yeah, Cameron has all the emails from Labour on a separate server that didn’t get hacked, and what will their existence (which you have Cameron Slater’s word for – good luck with that) say about John Key and Judith Collins’ behaviour? Nothing.

      If Labour MPs have something to answer for shame on them. If you think that gets the Prime and Justice Ministers off the hook you’re either delusional or your ethics are in the gutter.

    Well, I took the time to visit the WhaleOil site.

    The reasoning didn’t seem strong. I noticed a couple of things about both sets of texts that were in the post.

    The first text was the one in which Dotcom wonders who might have done the hacking and then ‘winks’. This has been used to implicate Dotcom as ‘confessing’ to the hack. But the odd thing is that Wayne Tempero (assuming these were his screenshots as claimed) then replies “Ha not me.”

    One reading would be that Wayne Tempero’s interpretation of the Dotcom winking text was that Dotcom was suggesting that he (Wayne Tempero) had done the hacking. Of course, Tempero could have been playing along with the ‘joke’ and wasn’t seriously denying that he had done the hacking. A further interpretation is that they could have both been referring to a third person who they had discussed previously as being the likely hacker.

    All in all, hardly an incontrovertible ‘confession’.

    More interesting was the second set of texts. Cameron Slater says they were from ‘June’ (no indication of when in June).

    That’s interesting because of the claim Dotcom makes that mickysavage has already highlighted:

    “collecting evidence and witnesses for 3 months. I hired professionals to get me information. We are preparing a case against everyone involved.”.

    Three months prior to (early) June is (early March). That means the suggested evidence collection period does not overlap with the period that involved the hacking of Slater’s computer system since that was in February.

    Finally, I don’t think hacked emails would be admissible as evidence – going on mickysavage’s comment above.

    I suppose the book ‘Dirty Politics’ might be admissible but what is there in it that would be useful to Dotcom’s case? (I haven’t read it yet).

    Having watched the news on One and TV3, and not just taken note of the polls, I see there is something coming up.

    Either these are coincidences that are being used to attack Dotcom, perhaps even charge him, or there is indeed something more to it.

    Of course Dotcom would not be so silly to get himself involved, but the text messages between him and his former security staffer Tempero sound a bit worrying indeed.

    It is too early to read anything in and out, but it is almost certain, this will all be used to launch a nasty attack on Dotcom, and to further implicate Nicky Hager into all this.

    What an “election campaign”, I have never seen one like this in dear old New Zealand.

    I think something orchastrated is brewing and its not National.

    Wait until about the 22nd, I think we will see either the SIS Goff OIA emails or the Collins prisoner transfer messages, or maybe one on the 22nd and one on the 23rd. If its substantitave enough (it will be) to wreck Nationals campaign launch Ede and Collins gone Tuesday.

    Im picking the 8GB will be up on wikileaks by the end of the month, I don’t think they will let Hager take any more punishment. Hope not anyway.

      When nobody loves you, especially the desired sex candidates, and what else there may be as “frustrations”, hatred can grow to be highly destructive forms for any person affected.

      How did his parents treat him, I wonder?

      Why has the Whale turned out to be the specimen of a human he is?

      Is there a self help group for persons like him?

      Maybe the 12 step program, but before you qualify, you have to accept and surrender, to your failings and so forth. I see him too far away from that at this stage. Let us hope and wish for the best, that our “friend” Cameron may find his human self one day, and eat humble pie and discover his heart and soul and gentle feelings.

    A few other things that should be front page news:
    * kids with third world diseases
    * kids going to school hungry and without shoes
    * the working poor, unable to earn a living wage
    * the top 1% taking 99% of the economic gains since ’84
    * the government selling public assets to their one-percenter pals
    * a dairy industry running amuck and turning rivers to shit
    * the demise of the kiwi dream and rise of the rentier class

    It was totally bizarre what Cam Slater said in the interview with Susan Wood on Q+A today, when he said, about half his “contacts” were from the Labour Party, and that he was having contacts all over the political spectrum in New Zealand. He even mentioned Stuart Nash and Kelvin Davis, and I wonder what that was about.

    So Cam is multi party all over a sudden, and he is “not” even a National Party member, he said. He identified himself more in line with ACT politics, and that tells us something perhaps, about the names he mentioned about Labour members he had been in touch with?! It seems he is keen to work more on the split in Labour, and he seems to have been a great force behind the scene, to encourage and promote the ABC brigade. That may be speculation, but who knows? I am sure Phil Goff is NO friend of Slater, after all this.

    Anyway, does anyone believe this person, this so self centred maladapted character? I hope he gets taken to court for his misdeeds, and that he will fail with his attempts to lay charges against some he is now saying he will prosecute.

    We will have some interesting weeks ahead, I think.

    Dot Com is the go to “whipping boy” for National when they can’t blame Labour. But it may actually work against them – any court action here is going to delay the extradition hearings and that will work in Dot Com’s favor. And the longer Dot Com hangs around and is in the news being hounded by the National government the more he will become the “little guy against the State”. NZers don’t like that kind of thing, especially when it’s out of proportion to the “crime”, and will start siding with him.

So long as there is a point and you don’t go too far over the top (ie attract moderator attention), it adds to the robust debate that people can be challenged at a personal level when they are being fools.     The moderation follows in the same vein.
