The polls are now closed, and it won’t be long until we know how the votes have fallen.
What we already know is that we wouldn’t have achieved our largest grassroots campaign without the amazing efforts of thousands of people like you across the country.
Together we spoke personally on the phone with over a quarter of a million Kiwis, we hand delivered 1.5 million pieces of targeted direct mail and we had conversations with voters on tens of thousands of doorsteps across the country. Our targeted focus on securing the party votes of those who were most likely to vote Labour will mean thousands more people gave us their party votes than would have otherwise.
Our efforts culminated in an outstanding get out the vote effort today – the largest we’ve ever organised.
It’s been a remarkable campaign which has shown that through the cooperation of our committed supporters across the country, whether in our new hubs, or in small towns, we are the party of people.
I’d like to give my thanks, on behalf of the whole team, for everything you’ve done over the last weeks and months.
Let’s watch the results come in with a sense of satisfaction for a campaign where we gave it our all.In solidarity,
