Only 2 access cards given out to lobbyists from Green Party & Maori Party according to Gerry Brownlee. Assuming this is correct, then no nasty RW lobbyists getting into parliament with access cards (yet) But like the Rodents (Rattus Norvegicus) infecting ...
A great outcome for democracy, it’s gets tiring with all the Trump supporters still ranting about the stolen election. $785 mill $us is a massive settlement & Murdoch will feel it. Hope there is a loss of status for Fox, but unlikely to do any long term ...
The nuances of political donations ? Binary thinking ? Wow that's some spin - hilarious
Give an amount to the political party you support & then give 10% of that value to the opposing party - and you are politically neutral ? Who could believe such rubbish ? love to see this argument used the other way round, no-one on the left would accept ...
Good interview this morning on Q & A with Jack Tame & Kieran McAnulty about the government water infrastructure proposal. At last a minister from Labour who fronts up & answers all questions with responses that Explain their position on why they are doing ...
No grain stackers for Ukraine, press yesterday hitting out at Nanaia Mahuta for turning this down. Chris Hipkins on one news this morning explains that the NZ company had approached Ukraine first & then tried to get the government to fund the sale, so the ...
Labour supporters should be happy Rob Campbell has been sacked. It shows this government is more serious about political neutrality where it is required. Under Jacinda she would have done nothing about it - and Labour would again have looked weak & ...
Eleanor Catton receives funding of $50k from a “money hungry” government that supposedly doesn’t care about culture ? Some people like to bite the hand that feeds them. Then gets a few home truths pointed our to her by John Key & the tax payers union. I ...
Agree totally that if employees don't get a wage rise equal to inflation rate then they are ending up with a pay cut. What's worse is cost of living goes up 7%, if employees get 7% wage rise to compensate (if they are lucky, most will get less), but lose ...
Appreciate your comments Red, nice to have some logic to the discussions on here. If housing is a human right, wouldn't food come before that ? Problem is someone else is required on the other side of the transaction to deliver the goods (at no cost ?)
Very good post & great read. Thanks
The scale of bastidry to effwit was well documented in the great Ian Drury & the Blockheads song Plaistow Patricia, the opening line: ”Arsholes, Bastards, Fu**en C**ts & Pricks Maybe he is a little bit out of order though in ranking Rik Mayall as “Alan B’...
Great comments Molly Cheers
Cheers Alan
It hasn't been race based for 182 years. In the early days maybe it was & that was clearly wrong. But it has been majority based for a long time (as every democracy is & has to be, otherwise it's not democratic). Maori seats were brought in to ensure Maori...
Ironic that Jacinda’s speech was about the need for democratic systems & informed debate. Perhaps she should have been more upfront with Harvard & explained that she was trying to move NZ away from a democratic state to something race based. And you don’t ...
Bill English “an unelected individual accountable to no one” Sounds suspiciously like 3 waters to me. Maybe Jacinda’s slippery underhand way of trying to change our democracy is catching on.
I think Seymour's position is more anti co-governance which this government has quietly tried to slip in thinking no-one would notice. 50% control of the country to 15% of the population, many who have European & Maori ancestry (Even David Seymour may ...
True Bezo's is getting your $, but if not him some other multi millionaire gets more of your $.
Link for Herald Article https://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/kiwi-shopper-saves-35-per-cent-ordering-groceries-from-australia/BL3RATPOZGLJQASWDRVY3DC4O4/
Item in this morning’s Herald. An Otago shopper ordered some non-perishable grocery items from Amazon Australia & saved 35%. 5 days to deliver. Maybe a one-off special but could be a good option for shoppers struggling to meet their weekly budget & if ...
I don't think Goldsmith's concern is an examination of NZ History, I think the concern is who is doing the examining & how it is presented. A definition of history by the "losers" may be as biased as one presented by the ""winners". (Winners & losers being...
Funny - your first bullet point seems to confirm Paul Goldsmith's fears.
Great article in the Herald today about 3 waters by Shane Jones. Sorry behind a paywall. At last the mainstream media are allowing a sensible rebuttal to the co-governance issue this government have tried to deceptively sneak in. I suspect the co-...
At least the Nats are giving everyone a tax cut & recognising there is a problem. Those on the lowest incomes will get a tax cut which has got to be better than Jacinda refuting there is a problem. This government sadly is out of touch with its voter base....
I read that the Novavax vaccine is now in NZ. Not sure if it has been made available to the public yet. Have you had this vaccine yet or will you have it when it becomes available ?
Got my first booster shot a few days ago. No problems with it. just got a text asking me if I had any side effects from the vaccine, answered NO but it makes you wonder are they trying to get a more accurate number of those with side effects?
Clarke will be in the Dogbox with Jacinda. Looks like the first dude needed to obey that old rule “Better to keep your mouth shut & be thought of as a fool, than to open it & remove all doubt”
Don't mind the long posts, a very good read. Agree with everything that you & Andre say re the virus. Many people want the benefits provided by a society (i.e. the hospital, doctors) but don't want to pull their weight & get the vaccine.
Yikes - David Seymour could be a threat to the Plant Variety Rights Bill. This man must be stopped - my pot plants are starting to wilt already
