Is it not the caucus that decides whether they go with Nat or not? Re pt england bill it was the caucus. Don't think the members mattered in that particular case. Or maybe there was not enough of them?
Thanks for that All opposite views to Nats, except maybe Chch? Based on that wold say he won't go with nats(can't confirm) but I will follow with interest.
I put forward the bottom line nzf is on record saying. whether they stick to it or not only time will tell. Ron Mark NZF " I want to start by making it very, very clear to the House that New Zealand First is not going to go through this election talking ...
No, I can't, as I tried to say. But if they went against that bottom line that they are on record saying then I would not like it. It's not very trusting is it? But some might say that they would not be surprised if they did go against this bottom line ...
she comes across a bit silly to me. In my mind she could have said what she wanted and done less damage for changeing the govt. It looks like lab/greens/nsf will need each other to change this govt so can't really understand her thinking. Also, to say that...
ZNF said if they are to go into coalition with any1 in Sept, they would be looking to repeal the RMA amendment bill that was passed this year. They said that is a bottom line. So while he will not pick a side now, based on this I can't see him going with ...
nick smith latest on point england. http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/morningreport/audio/201848280/govt-accused-of-micro-managing-pt-england-housing-development he is retaining the playing fields but in order to do that he is taking them away. ...
at one end you have banks giving 100% mortgages the other end is banks requiring 40% LVRs and possibly DTIs, where we are now. Both ends of the extreme and the housing still seems broken/too high. you would think something has to give. That's without ...
just to be clear, if it's not clear from the article. 7,500 homes will be built in the area neighbouring the reserve, replacing the 2800 state houses already there(anticipated population increase of 20,000). In addition to this, ~300 homes will go on the ...
yep tks weka.
@weka re point england reserve/development enabling bill Can I republish an article that appears in the Te Awa, which appeared in a green party magazine, but not online. The authours have given me their permission and at the very least would like to raise ...
@weka replying to your earlier comment on the possibility of doing a guest post on the point england issue. This document clearly and eloquently explains it better than I ever could. http://saveourreserves.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Pt-England-AIDE-...
13 out of the 45 hectares will be gone. does that sound like there will be enough left after the fact? You might think there is enough left? Maybe so but then look at current concept plans, but not sure if there is room for change on this. https://www....
so how does the confidence bill work? what determines it is a confidence bill? so
Further to the above: The above bill is in parliament, that they are rushing through to enable them to sell part of a public reserve for housing. there were a 100+ submissions on the Bill 95%+ were against the Bill Local National MP stands up in parliament...
Read this Point England Development Enabling Bill.pdf https://www.beehive.govt.nz/sites/all/files/Point%20England%20Development%20Enabling%20Bill.pdf or as a more appropriate name (PUT THE NAME OF YOUR LOCAL PARK HERE..) ... ...........Development Enabling...
National selling public reserves and kids playing fields to solve the housing crisis. god what next? https://www.newsroom.co.nz/2017/05/28/30765/no-easy-answer-in-pt-england-land-tussle
I am sorry to keep going on about the point england development enabling bill aka the sale of a public reserve/playing fields. but read the bill itself and you tell me how a so called green party can abstain from this. https://www.beehive.govt.nz/sites/all...
Agree. but if you look at the bill in isolation it is to rezone/sell a public reserve. the iwi are not even mentioned in the bill, although they do stand to benefit from the bill. So that's another question I have do you just vote for the bill in isolation...
agree with all of that. Just a thought from there perspective is that they can do all that in the future. Now they are about making them hard decisions so they can do all them things in the future.
Jsut got the below from the greens in an email. And they voted for this budget. you cannot but wonder! " The Government hasn’t put anything in here to cut our climate changing pollution and build a clean future for New Zealand either. Instead it’s sending ...
I was more referring to what they have said before the budget, and then they oppose it but support it. It's illogical really? so there is more to it. If it does not make a difference which way they vote, then their position is just a message, but that is ...
Looking from the outside they look a mess. How can they say all they have said and then vote for it. Its like the pt england bill to sell a public reserve, they are abstaining because it is messy. this is their full stance on it. after first reading it I ...
this is their full stance on it. after first reading it I thought how can they not oppose. https://blog.greens.org.nz/2017/04/12/an-almighty-mess-in-the-making/ My take on it is that they are being sold it as a treaty settlement which is not, or very ...
could not have said it better myself. Also, they are currently abstaining from a bill in parliament to sell a public reserve, because it conflicts with their other values. I would have thought that their green values cam first, but not so! They leave me ...
Welld did you have a look at the pt eng bill? Be interested to hear what you think of it. tks

It's official the green party are useless!! The Green Party has decided to abstain from voting on the Point England Bill. Abstention achieves nothing and shows a distinct lack of leadership on behalf of the Green Party. I would have thought their core ...
Thanks for reading and thanks for signing. but what good the petition will do, it really needs to be in the ~100's of thousands I think for the govt to actually sit up and listen, but it must be at least tried. That's the thing with this bill is the actual...
Let me ask, what will this bill achieve? ~300 houses yes,of which ~20% social, 20% affordable which I think is a good thing. A loss of a public reserve from its current state. You will argue that enough public reserve space is left. After all that is done,...
you know it's not that black and white I want houses but not at the expense of public reserves. They were put aside for a reason. Particularly in this case. For instance why is this development plonked right in the middle of the reserve? That seems to ...
