Around the House…

The Herald’s been talking to well-known Labour insider John Key again, who says a loss in the Mt Roskill by-election would be terminal for Andrew Little’s leadership…  Funny how no-one on the left has mentioned this…

Meanwhile, (and the above comment was in no way an attempt to distract from this,) Key won’t be attending his candidate’s by-election night party.  Apparently he doesn’t attend by-election parties, although he has attended when National have won.  Apparently his loyalty to National rank-and-file doesn’t extend as far as risking smelling of failure.  Little will be attending Michael Wood’s party.

Leggett’s legged it; No Right Turn sums it up perfectly.

In other news yesterday – National showed exactly what they think of kiwi jobs and kiwi companies, as they voted down Andrew Little’s members bill to give them a fair go in government tenders.  Instead we will continue to have Hillside episodes as National favours big foreign business over kiwi battlers.

National also showed what they thought of kiwi tenants, shooting down Metiria Turei’s bill to improve their rights.  Again they lined up with Peter Dunne & Act; this time to favour landlords.
