It appears there is something irresistible about travelling with the PM. While the fact that only 2 news organisations can send a journalist to cover our leader’s involvement in a 54 nation conference is disappointing, so is the fact that being part of that cosy group travelling with JK makes everyone a bit too matey.
So it doesn’t seem arrogant for John Key to think that Obama has ‘stolen’ his room as he (and no doubt several others) rank higher than NZ for best hotel suite, it’s portrayed as charming. And we get to vicariously live the lives of the rich and famous as we imagine shouting Aussie PM Julia a drink, hopefully catching up with US Prez Obama at the gym (but probably not…) and hopefully getting given a VIP Blackhawk helicopter as a gift.
It all just seems a bit incongruous printed next to big issues like our Ultrafast Broadband Network provider being banned from Australia due to espionage concerns, or the climate now possibly warming by 3C by 2050…
