Backbench National MP proposes radical new tax to address deficit *

National MP David Bennett has come up with a radical new proposal to address Government debt.  He wants a lover tax to be imposed.

And I thought that National was the party of no new taxes.

I wonder if he has canvassed the proposal with his caucus colleagues because if half of the rumours are true there could be more than slight interest in the proposal.

And I am sure the international jurisdiction issues will not be easy to resolve.

On a serious note is no one checking their advertisements?  Usually you would expect these ads to be checked by head office to see how the party vote spend limitation was affected.  Do these guys really think they are up to running the country?
