Here is a test to our sense of values. We small countries suffer because of the pollutions, the chemicals, the headlong rush to produce, that the big nations indulge in. But the small Pacific Islands need lots of help and now Kirikati needs water badly not the bad water they have.
The island had two desalination plants but they were both out of action, with the Kiribati Government seeking parts for repair.
It's been three months since the second desalination plant on the island was broken and it's been almost a year without substantial rain
Also the United Nations should have a standing engineering group that can go to small countries to help with the funding for practical responses.
