Having been through the grieving process many times, including the death of my spouse, I would recommend she NOT debate. If she debates, she will lose. She cannot possibly be mentally and emotionally in top form.

The salient point for me is that I’ve always been pretty clear on where Hone Harawira stands politically, regardless of what money has or hasn’t been behind his campaigns. For that reason, I think it can be categorically stated that any attempt to discredit his policies on the grounds of association with Dotcom is a smear (also, anyone who uses the expression “the fat German” is categorically a dick).

I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that National is going to win, and win big.
Jacinda will be grieving from the death of her nana, when tomorrow’s debate happens. English will take full advantage of this and destroy her.

Well, anything can happen, but over half a million have voted already. That lowers the impact of the debate.
Nobody would blame Ardern if she bowed out, and if she doesn’t blinglish can’t be too much of a prick because that’ll backfire. But equally, I’ve seen some folks channel pain quite spectacularly and blow their objective out of the park – then let out the pain in private, later. Obama was in a similar place in ’08.
If that’s the case it will be New Zealand’s loss because we’ll have to wait another three years for what absolutely everyone agrees will be the inevitable.
Horrible to think what further damage to communities National will do in that time and I don’t really understand why, if change and a Labour/Green win is inevitable, people would want to delay it.
