    Appears along with international commentary the general public in NZ are slowly waking up to what a wonderful PM we have in Jacinda Ardern. Its may not be snowing but the leaves are hung with tears.

      It’s almost a stone cold certainty that when next Ministerial expenses for the duration are released she’ll be attacked for spending more than usual because of trips to Christchurch.

      And no surprise if there’s comment about her being an ‘absent mother’ or some other dumb criticism of her poor mothering effort in being away from her child so much.

    At last the voice of reason re ACC cover for those poor folk who assisted people at the mosques, on the roadside, at ED. Mental trauma under the ACC Act does not only apply to people assaulted, train drivers etc. These heroes will use sick leave and pay for Dr appointments from their own pockets. Please change the ACC Act.

    Both Labour & the Natzi’s have failed to do anything about our lax Gun Law’s hopefully Jacinda can bring the gun totting NZF Party into line and get some changes to the laws done quick smart.

    With 1.5 million guns registered in NZ for a population of 4.5 million that is one (1) gun per three (3) people, let alone accounting for the unregistered weapons.

    Who are the enemy ?

        Happy to have it moderated especially with the sensitivity over the debarcale on Friday in Christchurch, I still don’t understand why the Pollies were not up with the play or the NZ Police for that matter ?

        Have we all got rose tinted glasses on here in NZ, the politicans, NZ Police, Security Services seem very blaise about the Gangs & Drug Problems here in NZ.

        The Asian Drug Cartels have got a foothold in this country and are distributing through the NZ Gangs like the Rebels/Head Hunters/Tribesmen etc. South Auckland is awash with P methamphetamine at present.

          Jacinda and her cabinet has decided to reform New Zealand’s gun laws with immediate effect. At the same time National has pledged support for post March 15 reforms and pulled it race baiting UN migration pact campaign because they know which side of history they want to be on.       100% agree SW. Especially with 3.1.2, unsure about murder numbers in relation, but mos def would be assaults happening all the time over it.

      This bit….’Asian Drug Cartels’, absolutely in agreement on that paragraph especially.

      I am hopeful for change however, in the next couple of years I do believe it will happen.

        I agree with a clampdown. I do not agree that gangs are on the rise under this government specifically that is highly inaccurate. You’ll find poverty is a gang recruitment driver, which this government is trying to address. Likewise institutionalised racism, minimisation, breakdown of community, isolation, imprisonment…

          Good points. The last has pertinence because my sister was in charge of the Salvation Army’s Auckland Bethany. A place for at risk young women who were pregnant to be nurtured away from malevolent influences – including gangs.

          They had many hair raising incidents involving the latter coming there and using intimidating behavior,… I was that concerned I got her permission to teach the lady’s ( these peaceful gentle and mainly middle aged women staff ! ) Japanese Jujutsu arm restraint techniques… it was obvious the Salvation Army could not hold the premises due to the destructive neo liberal John Key govt,… and after a few years including my sister appearing on TV discussing this,…. Bethany was closed down… after a century and more active service ,…

          So ,… where do those young women go now ?… well I suppose some other place…

          The neo liberal ChiNational party ,… the party for scumbags.

      Who employed Barclay? Who recommended him? What agency was paid a large sum? to pick him off the grapevine? Will they refund the money they received as he wasn’t fit for the task, and his salary? Do they have some way of checking with past employees?

      I remember in Alex the business cartoon from The Telegraph, Alex is very P.o.
      with an agency he employs to phone from Tokyo or such to enquire if he works at his agency and their opinion of him, or seeks to speak to Human Resources, as if he was being headhunted. But they messed up in phoning twice in a month which was a dead giveaway. You can’t get good help these days.

    Just read an alternative position for Egg Boy.
    He was wrong on two counts according to this writer:.
    1. By egging the nasty Anning, ” it will only excite far-right extremists further and fuel their perverse sense of victimhood.

      Oh what a good way to end filthy wars. By having a sticky food fight instead and lots of us getting egg on our faces.
      Many a true word spoken in jest. And wars can be held in poor countries as so often they are now, and the food that is left can be eaten by the inhabitants while it is still in edible condition and the rest composted and some fast growing vegetables grown in it. Apparently squashes are good in rawish compost according to a youtube session I watched today. With surprising ease we will get through our next vital twenty years with ideas like these popping up.

      That person deserves a seat at the High Table.

          Anning doesn’t like Australian flora and fauna apparently. He’d positively hate ours and run off home, alternatively spitting and squawking himself as the kea chased him and practised one of their unpleasant dietary practices.       Not so sure about that – court reporters do have an important role.

      But the practise at his arringment was pretty got, albeit some unedited photos got out. Maybe have a pool photographer, or if the photos that got leaked can be traced back to source maybe bar them from future appearances.

      The more important problem is how to stop a fuckwit “representing” himself from gloating at witnesses of his crimes, be it murder or sexual assault or whatever. But tech might help there – have prerecorded questions vetted by the judge or presented in writing, and supplementaries can be muted and vetted. Makes it longer, but limits the ability to gloat or make speeches. Dunno hoe legal it is though – probably not…
