The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.
The site will be off line for some hours.
Who's idea was this? https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360464194/former-act-leader-richard-prebble-appointed-waitangi-tribunal
The methods of neutralising the WT, as with the HRC, is either by the appointments process, or by de-funding.
This is the way of National, pandering to the more gauche populism of their right wing partner ACT.
ACT drives this, not the Nats. Plausible deniability for them if, or rather when, it turns to kaka.
A fairly accurate appraisal of the current state of the opposition in NZ.

Paraphrasing the piece:
Opposition? What Opposition?
From the link:
There's truth to that in normal circumstances but these are not normal times. Ayesha Verrall has been on the ball and a few others, including Hipkins, are waking up after their long slumber. In the meantime this govt. has taken to every positive move by the previous govt. with a large axe and they have virtually let them off with a sloshy bus ticket. Not good enough.
Launching new policy proposals is part of only one of the three main pillars of political communication, according to the piece, the other two are to “defend/promote your record”, and to “attack your opponents”. What are the other 50-odd MPs with their party apparatuses behind them doing?? They’re actually paid to do a job, and an important one, for that matter!
National won by being negative and barking at every car for 6 years
The problem there is: the MSM let National and ACT get away with it, but not Labour and the Greens. They tip toe around Te Pati Maori because they don't want to be labelled racist.
Israel continues to kill and kill some more in Gaza , Afaik only the Electronic Intifada covers its killing spree so comprehensively .Jon Elmer's " resistance report " starts about 141 and in this episode gives lots of detail of the killing of Yaya Sinwar and his resistance movement .
In my view, the behaviour of Casey Costello and her leader, Winston Peters is worthy of a complaint to the Speaker and at some subsequent point legal action by Ayesha Verrall with the support of leader, Hipkins:

Rather than become involved in a slanging match with Peters [which is what he wants] she should by-pass him and lay a formal complaint with the speaker followed by court action.
Yes Anne. As reported in your linked article:
"In a statement to RNZ, acting director-general Maree Roberts said the ministry official had adhered to its conflict of interest rules, but the ministry had failed to then "specifically" pass on the conflict to Costello.
"This was the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. The ministry has apologised to the associate minister of health for this oversight.
"The ministry does have a conflict of interest protocol which is well-communicated to all staff and was adhered to by the individual in this case."

Neither Ayesha Verrall nor the staffer are in any way at fault. Winston Peters is using deflection, in an attempt to distract from the unethical conduct of Casey Costello and Andrew Bayly.
Of course he is. There is no way after 46 years in politics [minus one or two terms in the wilderness] he didn't know the protocol around conflict of interest rules. If Labour has finally got their mojo back, they will shout out his hypocrisy and his "deceit and underhandness" [to quote himself] from the roof tops.
From Whangarei to Dunedin and back.
Promises of rebuild and a year on.
One wonders what the new “in budget” criteria means for them and those at Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North and Tauranga.
