    Damn I'm really really as happy as, that the three kids down in north taranaki are safe and well. But at first clance I hope the father gets a serious bill for all the rescue people putting their lives and safety at risk.

      It was good to actually have some good news this afternoon. To be honest it really surprised me as I was thinking the worse. Agree totally, would have been nice if father had told someone of the plan. I expect more details may come out later.

    On RNZ’s panel show today mincing tory associate Mr David Farrar tackled Clarke Gayford for making comments about Sirkey’s recent utterances on COVID. A bit rich considering the effort he and Mr Slater devoted to trying to Slander Clarke on their respective blogs.

      Well I think Clark is a bit silly to go on social media and make these comments as it opens himself up for this sort of thing. I can't remember John Key's wife, or Bill English's wife or Helen Clark's husband ever going on to social media, or to media in general. They very much stayed out of politics which I think is a smart move as their families should be off limits.

        Maybe Gayford's participation is measured and constructed on research which says most sane people don't mind.

        I wouldn't be surprised if some of those rubbishing him for breaking with tradition praised Trump for chucking the tradition book and protocol away and doing things his own way.

        Helen Clark is attacked very time she is in the news offering opinions on anything, (like concerts at Eden Park) with suggestions she's had her turn and should butt out. Do the complainers about her mind John Key having his say? Or Richard Prebble?

        Gayford has as much right as anyone to have opinions and state them.

    White South African immigrants turn up and one of them murders their three kids. upon arrival.

    What recruitment process by the South Canterbury DHB brought this horror to our shores? Where was the psychological vetting? Where they appropriate people to be bringing to this country?

    The fallout from this brutal murder has already been minimised and sanitised because of the colour of the skin of those involved.

    I say send the father back to Pretoria where he belongs, and the mother who brutally murdered her three kids stays in prison here for the rest of her life.

          While the preciousness that makes us keep some pretty lousy specimens for no good reason, like Harjit Singh's & Hardeep Singh (and not forgetting the corrupt MBIE persons who facilitated their systematic and repeated frauds) frustrates me, there is seldom any good answer to murders of children. In the absence of good answers, trying to minimise harm is the best we can manage – if we can manage that much.

      I am no fan of mass unskilled immigration – but I'm working alongside a few guys who've been in PR limbo for seven years, and who have become skilled in situ – though their wages do not reflect it. Bad employer win.

      Really, MBIE need to completely change their culture. The easiest way to do that is to give their jobs en bloc to these migrants.

      This corrupt civil service – the final festering fruit of Rogergnomics – hurts every citizen.

    Juat something I want to mention., as it came up on another forum that has nothing to do with politics.

    Just an observational thing in our lockdown more than anything else.

    Can I just ask all moderators to be a bit careful with their ban buttons while the lockdown is going on?

    Incognito nearly turfed me earlier for a week. Fair enough. Dude thought I should be for a sec. And frankly not the end of the world, have the wife, who cares?

    But would just point out there are probably people alone and this is their outlet. So might want to temporarily tread carefully before killing people for months. Mental health is kind of a big thing for those alone.

    Appreciate you could just tell me to f off

      It makes no difference where a TS Author presently lives/works as long as they make a valuable and relevant contribution to the kaupapa of this site. We’ve had a few Authors based in the UK and elsewhere overseas over the years.

      Everybody has to adhere to the Policy. It sounds like you’re not only attacking an Author, again, but also trying to tell us how we should run this site.
