     Fifteen years after of evolving dirty politics IMO. They've got zero independent media so it's been all too easy to game the system even getting the taxpayer to pay for Hoots pimping up Muller on RNZ.

   The important difference between Price and many other political Tweeters (left or right) is that he doesn't just express extreme opinions, he tells complete lies – which are easily disproved. Despite this … he is still re-tweeted approvingly by National MPs, and given a platform in various media.

   One small example (there are many more):

   Price lies about an opinion poll

   Again, the difference is important here. If you say "I reckon National will be 50% in the next poll" you might be a bit loopy but it's only a biased hope (we can all do those).

   But Price is lying about a poll which did not exist. He knew nothing about the Colmar Brunton poll, because nobody did – not even Colmar Brunton. They were phoning people at the time.

   It backfired on Price (it usually does). But he keeps telling the lies because he is expected to. His party is fine with him doing it. (When a National leader calls him out, let me know).

     Note that many such tweets are deleted, so we can't always link to the original. But it happens often, because Price and National are hand in glove.

       There was ranting and raving about "socialism creeping in" because of all the covid posters about, esp the "be kind" ones! Just bizarre and paranoid claims, laughable really, then you get Nat MPs agreeing with them.

       I have looked again at the original tweet that Stuart Smith MP said he did not fully read before tweeting his approval of it.

       Smith said that while he had not fully read the text he did agree with the sentiment that triggered his dislike of a schoolteacher persona. That must have been the bit from Hamish Price referring to the 'six year old child'.

       That reference immediately preceded the reference to the 'intellectually disabled', in the same sentence.

       Stuart Smith expects us to believe these three things. 1. He did not read the whole text. 2. He has the stupidity to tweet an agreement with something he has not fully read. 3. There is nothing to apologise about- to the intellectually disabled, or to the 1000 plus school teachers in his electorate who are predominantly women.

       I don’t believe any of the three. That makes him stupid to look like a liar in his attempt to excuse his acceptance of Price's putdowns and avoid a backdown and apology.

       I will leave the question of his mysogyny and his putdown of school teachers to those 1000+ teachers, their partners, their children, their friends and their students alike.

           He found himself and promoted himself into taking the electorate off Colin King MP in an organised electorate coup. Colin King was also a low-ranked MP for his nine years 2005-2014 and not very able. He was, however, in my opinion a decent man.

           After the Muller coup, Smith's rating was raised to be exactly halfway in the National rankings. He won't make cabinet in 2020 should National win, which is very unlikely. In 2023, he will also have had nine years in Parliament and be in turn ready for a coup or to retire with the 9 year pension.

           Unless National voters saw the possibilities of MMP and voted out their own poor performers, before the coup……….

     But that's the whole point. Read Price's threads on Twitter. Look at who applauds him, look at their bios and shudder. Q-Anon, wild conspiracy theorists, literal fascists.

     He provides "respectable" cover for the most extreme Right.

   National is the Party that claims to be strong on Law & Order. The Party that stands strong on personal choices and responsibility. The one Party that rules them all, but not by example, and not for all.

   Take Matt King, for example, a former Police Officer, no less, who also seem to think that rules are the plebs, the great un-washed, but not for him, no Sir!

       Meh, I say bangers with mash, they say Sauerkraut mit Wurst. There’s no political debate in NZ, at least not one that involves all 120 MPs. Forget debate, we’re on the election trail now. National has been there all that time since they screwed up badly in 2017 and gave away their poll position to be in Government. They couldn’t even manage a Coalition deal! Which is even more telling when you consider that they would do anything (yes, Meatloaf, anything) for power.

   At least Shub updated their story to call Price "a right-wing former political advisor". The original version made it sound like he was some ordinary member of the public.

   Time for everyone to call him a 'Nat party operative' to be clearer about where he sits in the political ecosystem. We need to be ready for several months of muck.

     They say 'former' to indicate it's something he left behind. He was formerly a child with the consequent limited brain development but they didn't say he was 'formerly' a child.

     I'll draw my own conclusions.

   Hamish Price comments that he had been “abused” online after his tweet. Typical bullying type, doesn’t like it when they are found out. Wonder if Todd Muller’s Christian beliefs will ensure the dirty politics are not part of the election campaign. Trouble is, these operatives are usually at a distance from the leader. Remember Jason Ede, the silent operator, out of the public eye?

   Gifting Labour some good MSM PR is probably worth it in exchange for amplification of his message to the people he is dog whistling. Maybe he's an idiot with bad PR skills. Or maybe he's a right wing operative who is on mission with creating social divides and helping the hard right to grow.

   I'm not sure about the value for the left there in helping with the amplification.

    $100 million straight into the pockets of tourism’s biggest players, decided by tourism’s biggest players and the National Party. Policy for donations or vice-versa.

    It is great to see the venom of the right wing really be put on display. It's always been there but the very very nasty part inhabited by the Bridges crowd including Hamish Price and David Farrar, etc has been broken up and tossed aside and they don'y like it on bit.
