Hazel Armstrong will deliver the second presentation in the Fabian Light-handed regulation series on Monday night in Connolly Hall in Wellington at 5:30pm. It is very timely in the light of the current review of work safety. Hazel is an acknowledged expert in the field, and her presentation will use deregulation in rail as a case study. It is another case where deregulation led to unnecessary deaths; unlike other cases reregulation after an enquiry by Margaret Wilson in 2000 led to a reduction in accidents. Its a salutary story.
