     It’s a fine line that politicians of all stripes must walk. In NZ, they can’t afford to be seen to be too precious or up themselves – witness Aaron Gilmore. If Key had prevaricated on answering those questions, I suspect he would have looked worse given that they were relatively trivial.

       So was the subject of the interview…..The Trivial Mr Ponce Key. Informative too that no one would ever have dared to ask HC those wank questions……Old Muntersville Key was right there……lapping it up !      True. In this country, these days, this works. Since the arrival of Key we no longer expect our PM to maintain a dignified image, keep their word, or tell the truth. Imagine if it was Muldoon or Bolger or Shipley, or Clark or how it would go down in the US if it was Obama, Even when they have a useless president they all maintain some gravitas in office.

     Lols to Oliver, on one level we are all human, even politicians, but that does not mean political affairs should be wrangled into a “life like experience” or never ending reality TV episode which is where this Key “on the munt” style idiocy leads

     Key uses a burner phone for goodness sake, does he take nothing seriously?–of course he does, transferring the nation’s wealth “upstairs”–by the shovel load and the overnight digital transfer load, the John Key some aspirational New Zealanders relate to is shafting them as they chuckle

   Anyone really believe he went on the show not having any warning about the questions? I don’t think any NZ PM has done that for a few decades now, let alone a guy who has shown a tendency to blow it when speaking off the cuff.

     @Grindelbottom. I don’t know anyone who !horses around pulling waitresses ponytail’s! That wasn’t horsing around Tracy Watkins. That was common assault, perpetrated MANY TIMES on an unprotected female in her place of work! He is not one of us. He is a bully, and a coward who hides behind his position. If that had been Andrew Little doing that, or making a complete arse of himself on radio you would be running it in derisive, derogatory headlines for weeks and weeks. I feel sorry for you. Get out in the real world and do your job properly. There is more going on in NZ than our excruciatingly embarrassing pm making NZ look as stupid as he is, who apparently needs to be propped up by a press puppet by having him written about in positive glowing terms no matter how juvenile he gets.

    This idiot has no sense of gravitas and totally demeans the post of Prime Minister of this country. By acting like he is one of the blokes, he demeans me in the eyes of the world. Our Prime Minister should always be a little above the rest of us. I am ashamed that Key represents me on the world stage. Time for him to go before any more damage is done to our reputation.
