Well I might be drawing a long bow there but last night’s press gallery party was the worst I’ve ever been to and I suspect the Nats’ filibustering of the EFB might have to take the blame. Last year the do was a raucous good time with loads of drinking, gossip and chaos. This year it was like a morgue.
I was gonna take some photos but honestly? There was nothing to see. Having Parliament in urgency didn’t help and everyone seems exhausted. The usual suspects were there (including DPF – although even he seemed to be working the room half-heartedly) but most of the MPs were ducking in and out and none seemed to be engaged. In the end I just caught up with ‘Sod and we went elsewhere…
