Ian Taylor lays into the awful acts of this parliament
I would not call Ian Taylor a pillock, but I will state that his criticism of EP is with little merit.
It is a common mistake to impose on those of the past, some obligation to meet the test of modern norms.
The purpose of the suffragette of that time was not to lead a campaign for social justice, or the extension of the franchise for the working class, but to make the claim for equality of/for women.
That meant that if men of her class could vote, then so should she.
PS Her daughter Sylvia's response to the Labour saying they supported the vote for women was to join the party (whereas CP stood for the Tories and on not being the first woman MP – instead Nancy Astor an American, she went to the USA and preached the coming end time when men would be judged at the last trump).
Nicola thinks it's our own fault for not understanding the facts of the matter, and of course, it's Labour's fault.

It's always fascinating how quickly some politicians go from slinging mud to clutching pearls the moment someone pushes back.
Jacinda Ardern endured years of death and rape threats, had effigies of her strung up in public, and was targeted relentlessly by conspiracy theorists—many of them stirred up by voices within Willis' own party. And what did she or her colleagues do about that?
Nothing. Not a word of solidarity. No public defence of her basic dignity. Instead, they mocked her as an “out-of-touch socialist” while some of their supporters were literally planning to hang her.
So, forgive us if we don't feel too moved when she's suddenly upset about a mean word in a newspaper.
Women in politics deserve respect—but that respect isn’t earned through selective outrage or a victim complex when the going gets tough. It’s earned by standing up for others, not just when it’s convenient, but when it’s hard.
Seems like classic DARVO – Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender
Here she resorts to running the Trumpian DEI attack lines approach to pay equity for women.
What next, Seymour and Peters call pay equity woke and in breach of universal natural law where the strong rise to the top and others know their place.
And she and 5 others nod and say amen brother.
Within one term from elected to serve, to
the remote well propertied sneering Tories they were all along.
IF Nicola is right, and it was needed to change the legislation to make it work.- the debate it appropriately over time.
THE SPEED suggests they DONT have arguments of their position.
Boo fucking hoo.
Stephen. What have women in your life done to deserve such an attitude.?
The Treasurer Willis was for the legislation in 2020, Labour Women and Unions forming a "Grievance Industry" is her excuse for a 180 deg turn.
This Governments high handed wiping of 33 claims, some of which have been built over 20 years, hardly seems a "rush" of cases. After all women are 53% of the work force, so a number of cases was to be expected.
The fact that her budget would not work without this "rushed fast tracked bill" is not missed by women and their supporters.
Voting in Local and General Elections may remind National of their vulnerability over this.
Remember this.

Nicola Willis was proud to support the legislation in 2020.

The government as employer and funder to organisations that would be negotiating with unions did not act in good faith.
And it seems that this is primarily on her, the PM* and another minister.
Luxon promised that the pay settlements would be made in election debate 2023.

33 claims were active and some close to settlement – all with impact on the budget for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
Now none of them will now impact either of those two budgets.
The chance that Luxon will be PM when any of them is settled is now very low. His promise of 2023 is being broken and that is his deliberate policy intent.
It being to bed in the agenda of the landlord class at the expense of the rest of us.
He knew and did not want to say it did not include either, or he did not know.
This speaks to credibility.

Luxon on the phone with global leaders about Ukraine talks https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/560681/luxon-on-the-phone-with-global-leaders-about-ukraine-talks
'Big hat, no cattle…' What he should be doing is:
Getting the free trade with India sorted,
Get those 500 new cops he promised,
Stand firm against the worst of ACTs initiatives, or admit National agrees with them,
Oversee the budget so landlords aren't subsided by the women of this country,
Etc etc.
I think the global leaders teleconference could have managed without Luxon's "what I will say is I'm wealthy, I'm sorted" interjections
