   Hello Robert, it is amazing to me to find few comments here on here about the first game of rugby with a crowd of 20 000 and the drop goal. Grant Robertson would be so pleased and Jacinda Ardern as a Chiefs supporter, not so much!! Though both could be pleased to see the game confirming Level 1.

     I will be going to a Blues game sometime in July. Great to see Auckland humming again this weekend. Downtown on Saturday night was chaos with long queues for the nightclubs. All the cafe patrons enjoying their overpriced milk froth. I went for dumplings at “Mr Zhou” in Mt Eden with 8 friends today, it was a good time.

   Fox News published digitally altered and misleading photos on stories about Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in what photojournalism experts called a clear violation of ethical standards for news organizations.

   As part of a package of stories Friday about the zone, where demonstrators have taken over several city blocks on Capitol Hill after Seattle police abandoned the East Precinct, Fox’s website for much of the day featured a photo of a man standing with a military-style rifle in front of what appeared to be a smashed retail storefront.

   The image was actually a mashup of photos from different days, taken by different photographers — it was done by splicing a Getty Images photo of an armed man, who had been at the protest zone June 10, with other images from May 30 of smashed windows in downtown Seattle. Another altered image combined the gunman photo with yet another image, making it appear as though he was standing in front of a sign declaring “You are now entering Free Cap Hill.”

     What happens if we reverse the rules?

     1. Put people to work. It’s even more effective than money.
     2. Challenge your people to explore, to learn and to get comfortable with uncertainty.
     3. Find ways to help others on the path find firm footing.
     4. Help others write rules that allow them to achieve their goals.
     5. Treat the others the way you’d want to be treated.
     6. Don’t criticize for fun. Do it when helps educate, even if it’s not entertaining.
     7. Stick with your tactics long after everyone else is bored with them. Only stop when they stop working.
     8. It’s okay to let the pressure cease now and then. People will pay attention to you and the change you seek when they are unable to consistently ignore it.
     9. Don’t make threats. Do or don’t do.
     10. Build a team with the capacity and the patience to do the work that needs doing.
     11. If you bring your positive ideas to the fore, again and again, you’ll raise the bar for everyone else.
     12. Solve your own problems before you spend a lot of time finding problems for the others.
     13. Celebrate your people, free them to do even more, make it about the cohort and invite everyone along. Disagree with institutions, not with people.

   Bryan Gould is putting the finger on it, IMO. It is most interesting that Paul Goldsmith made the accidental and silly comment about the PM ‘knitting’ and that he was told off subsequently. In contrast, Penk pens a rant book of 156 pages (30,000 words) and the same teller-off is ‘relaxed’ about it. There is a lot of jostling for media attention and alleged boo-boos are intentional and cynical moves in games of thrones. We are continuously being played. Even National’s ‘policy’ announcements are trivial wafer thin headline grabbers with very little substance; there is no coherent policy platform or campaign theme emerging, which is understandable when the Party is essentially rudderless, trying to stem infighting, and constantly suppressing mutiny.

   Mr Gould is ahead of his time as his piece’s date shows 😉

           Err, this particular article didn't mention Greenwald or Scahill. Which you might have observed if you had actually read it and comprehended what was in it.

           Nor was it alleged they were members of a cult that includes those noisome individuals you've listed. Perhaps you should re-read the article to try to better understand what was actually said about the commonalities between Blumenthal and Norton and those other reprehensible excuses for humans.

               Sadly, you're not demonstrating any reading comprehension ability, but merely your ability to somehow find echoes of your preconceived notions. Those two paragraphs were indeed in the article, but they do not allege a cult, they merely point out commonalities.

               As for Collins' opinion of Greenwald and Scahill, I won't know or care until I come across something where he makes an argument one way or the other, with backup evidence. And no, I'm not interested enough to go looking.

                   I reckon the headline editor is fair enough in broadly suggesting there is a cult of tankies, and that Blumenthal and Norton fit into it.

                   The mozzie is just failing basic reading comprehension with his claim that the article puts Blumenthal and Norton into a cult that also includes Spencer, Carlson, Duke etc. Those are specimens of different kinds of malignance that that the article points out they happen to share some commonalities.

    Who would have thought that National was so kindly towards beneficiaries. So Todd Muller promises:
