Petition – Apology for spying

Keith Locke has created a “Not in our name” petition:

Petitioning the governments of Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Pacific Island nations

We ask that you accept this apology from concerned New Zealanders for our government’s illegal spying on your nations’ electronic communications. It was done without our knowledge and damages friendly relations between our countries.

We are spying on diplomats and activists, not terrorists. It isn’t right, and although the government will never apologise for it, we the people can.
