Two weeks into the political year, who deserves the sack? Bill ‘it’s a guess’ English, Lockwood ‘small hands’ Smith, Paul ‘cheeky darkies’ Holmes, John ‘DJ’ Key, Maurice ‘Dumb’ Williamson, Jonathan ‘Dumber’ Coleman, Craig ‘Goebbels’ Foss, Stephen ‘Riefenstahl’ McElrea, Trevor ‘Scalper’ Mallard, Tariana ‘Slush Fund’  Turia, Murray ‘Security Risk’ McCully…

I’m not sure if David ‘surfer’ Shearer should be on that list. Can’t think of anything he’s done.

The supreme hypocrite Mallard takes the cake. Sack him.

for the worst on that list, I toss up between ‘guessing’ on a multi-billion programme to sell the public’s assets against our will, or running a slush fund with public money that used to go to families in need.

On the one hand Mallard makes money out of rich Act supporter students.

On the other Key promises riches and then begins stealing what we already had.

Winner by a definite margin – JKeyll the Hide and Thief. SACK IM.

      • IrishBill 3.3.1

On the one hand Mallard makes money out of rich Act supporter students.

This is interesting. Do you have a link, or other evidence, showing they are rich Act supporters?

        • Jum 3.3.1.1

Oh – did I say Act?

My spell checker must have slipped.

It should have been NAct which applies to everyone that can spend that sort of money on frivolities, when the unemployed are mounting by the day, and take it to the papers instead of to David Shearer to pull Mallard’s tail-feathers out for being so stupid.

      • Zetetic 3.3.3

don’t go using the right’s smear tactics. mallard’s habit of selling of comp tickets for personal profit is the problem, not who bought them. I’ve never seen Actoids who dress like that, either.

        • Jum 3.3.3.1

          Zetetic,

said: ‘don’t go using the right’s smear tactics. mallard’s habit of selling of comp tickets for personal profit is the problem, not who bought them. I’ve never seen Actoids who dress like that, either.’

So, we have students that have to dress the way you envisage them as dressing and we have your opinion that Mallard’s behaviour is the only problem.

I disagree with both your opinions and especially the nonsense about smear tactics.

I could not even begin to copy the well funded, well-organized dirty tricks team of NAct.

I am stating and continue to state that that amount of money spent on frivolity is bad when so many people are out of work and far more important issues like NZers’ housing assets and Ports being sold off should be emblazoned all over the media not that news, not the shock horror of Mallard selling tickets for more than he paid for them.

It amazes me how the knocking shop which includes Labour supporters that cotton on to these issues happily attack Labour and yet they can blatantly ignore the real issues of what Key and backers are up to.

          • blue leopard 3.3.3.1.1

            Well said Jum,

Nothing compares to Jkeyll the Hide and thief (which I think is a clever name by the way) and think its hilarious that anyone argues the finer point of your initial statement!!

…Which you countered well, by the way.

Irish Bill and Zetetic, listen to yourselves!!

            • Zetetic 3.3.3.1.1.1

don’t try to excuse mallard. we wouldn’t do the same if it were a nat in his shoes.

              • blue leopard

Hey! Hold on a minute Zetetic &co

I don’t consider anyone was excusing Mr Mallard’s actions, I thought Jum’s comment was both witty and astute, one of comparing the two activities being reported on at present and making manifest the extent of “appallingness” (no such word but a good one, just the same) of Mr Key’s intent on selling our revenue generating assets, not excusing Mr Mallard’s behaviour.

          • Zetetic 3.3.3.1.2

conspiracy theories that mallard was set up? Really?

            • Te Reo Putake 3.3.3.1.2.1

Set up, no. Used, yes. There is a clear political element to the disclosure. If the seller was some random Hutt Valley resident, they would not have gone to the media. Clearly, they are not Labour supporters, but they understood the political value of the story and shopped Mallard accordingly.

As for their political allegiances, they present as wealthy, pompous and smugly hip. So Greens, rather than ACT, I would have thought.

              • IrishBill

I had a dig around and they seem to be civilians. I’ve no tolerance for the right attacking civilians and even less when the Left do it – we’re supposed to be cognisant of power imbalances. Trevor did something stupid and got caught out. Attacking a bunch of kids on his behalf doesn’t make things better unless you think petty vindictiveness is a good look for the Left.

                • Te Reo Putake

I’m not doing anything on Mallards behalf, IB, but I do think the motivation of these unusually wealthy young folk is worth questioning. And, as they gleefully breached Mallard’s privacy in the first instance, they should have the light shone on them too. Happy to trust the results of your research, though, and if it’s just a case of them recognising the name Mallard and grabbing their 15 minutes on the back of his stupidity, fair enough.

Civilians??? Where did that term come from? Last I heard it used outside of military terms was some years ago when Liz Hurley used it to describe non-celebrities.

                  Not liking it…. just saying.

              • Vicky32

Yes, that they are Greens makes sense to me! Having heard Metiria Turei quoted on Nat Rad this morning, my suspicions of the Greens seems more well-founded than ever.

          • Vicky32 3.3.3.1.3

It amazes me how the knocking shop which includes Labour supporters that cotton on to these issues happily attack Labour and yet they can blatantly ignore the real issues of what Key and backers are up to.

Jum, I agree with you 100%! (The only thing is the term “knocking shop”, which was my father’s North of England, idiomatic term for a brothel.. 😀 Come to think of it, that might be apt!

  4. Maui 5

Much as it may pain me to say this, they are the legally elected government of this country.

    • That doesn’t mean they deserve to keep their jobs, Maui. Given that the list doesn’t appear to be partisan, I think it’s a bit unfair to read it as being about wanting the government to change, I think it’s about demanding a high standard of behaviour from our MPs.

    • Draco T Bastard 5.2

And the only reason a lot of them get to keep their jobs is because we don’t have the power of recall.

    What’s the goss with Foss?

He’s our MP. Saw him recently and he’s very pleased with himself – puffed up like a peacock.

In his past life he was a trader with M/Lynch in Singapore same time Key was in N/York. He’s championed Napier Port being included in a Holding Company along with other assets including $100m proposed water storage dam which would indicate they’re being prepared for privatisation.

Definitely he’s elitist and a bully and be useful to know what scheming he’s up to.

    • Hami Shearlie 6.1

Craig Foss, duplicitous and slippery – pet name “Candy” Foss: Why? -He’s popular, but has no value, leaves you feeling unsatisfied and is bad for you. Puffed up with air! Re this holding company he wants, love to know who will hold the shares and who will make all the profit? Will it be the people of Napier? Or just Fossie’s little friends!

    • Zetetic 6.2

he’s been trying to excuse nat insiders deciding what documentaries nz on air should fund. the docos are coming out soon and all happen to cast favourable light on government work areas like Whanau Ora. his performance in the house trying to hide what’s going on has been so bad that he’s made clare curran look good!

I hear Foss has some skeletons in his closet.

      • Anne 6.2.1

I hear Foss has some skeletons in his closet.

Well, it’s time someone did an investigation. Come on Standardistas, there must be someone here with the journalistic know-how and the contacts.

Btw, I agree with your comment @ 6:24pm Zetetic. Mallard has been a part of the political scene since the 1970s. He should have known better. I think it’s the ‘entitlement’ thing again.

        • tc 6.2.1.1

mallard needs to go before he damages labour anymore than he already has…..if they are interested in beacoming a major party again lose the architect of their failure in 2011 it’s that simple.

  6. Leopold 7

How can you sack Paul Holmes? He’s not (officially) in the government, and so far as the media is concerned he is doing a sterling job in attracting attention. And regarding Mr Mallard – whether it was aset up or not, I can’t believe that he is so stupid as not to work out what the Buy Now option means on Trademe (especially as he has been using it for scalping for quite a while – even I in my two purchases on Trademe was able to work out that one…). Nope, just sleazy case of greed on his part
