Oh Dear Sounds like you need a lie down and nice cup of tea.
I agree with your statements concerning the use of the concept, 'rates'. My other point (which I should have made more clearly) is that I don't think we should be expecting the young to make unreasonable sacrifices for, say, boomers, for example.
By and large the evidence strongly suggests that the young don't die at anywhere near the same rates as 'the old and infirm" as a result of Convid 19. So that sacrifice is not being asked of the young. And neither should it.
Check the data Tony. Australia is doing ok. Its current management of the problem is producing results similar to NZ.
Ardern's interview on 7 Sharp on Friday was simply propaganda and politicking. Its was straight out of the ex Women's Weekly playbook. TVNZ need to be careful about providing a platform at prime time for political propaganda of this sort. Hillary Barry ...
KJT No economy in the world can meets the all of the health needs of citizens and prevent all disease related deaths. What economies can do is generate capital to support and resource health systems. The stronger the economy, the greater the resources ...
Thats irrelevant. She runs the government of which Peters is her deputy PM and acting PM when she is absent. There is also a cabinet manual that requires that the PM act if there is even a hint of unethical behavour amongst her cabinet members. Peters, a ...
The problem is Micky that because of the parties involved (Peters, BFD, journalists), this is all grist to National's and Act's mill. It'll be exploited by them for all its worth for as long as they can. Unless Jacinda shows some real leadership apropro ...
She does look weak. It looks like Winston's in charge; and, a bit like Trump, doing what he likes; to hell with Labour.
Morning Swordfish. What polls are you quoting above out of interest? Not unusually they are at variance with other polls that are out there: for example the website 538 has Biden ahead of Saunders in Ohio and Nevada. Granted this poll is measuring the ...
Saunders may win states like California, New York and New Hampshire etc against Trump. But his chances of winning the states that are critical in the electoral college such as Michigan, Ohio and Illinois etc (the rust belt states) are practically zilch. ...
Michelle A nice attempt at muddying the waters and diverting attention away from Peters. As Micky said, at best "it is not a good look". On the basis of the available information; NZ First is going to some effort to hide donations etc in an attempt to ...
The problem you face Just Me, is that most of NZ disagree with you, so the polls tell us.
The problem you face Just Me, is that most of NZ disagree with you, so the polls tell us.
I think you've got the wrong party Anne. National's local membership do have a significant say in the selection of their local candidate. They're probably the most influential demographic in the selection process. They can and do ignore National Party head...
Jacinda's pretty good at using women's magazines too "to tell big fibs about her life" - "and leaving plenty of stuff out". Who doesn't. Well I don't because women's magazines are not that interested in me. More to the point, a strong tendency is ...
Micky Its getting boring hearing the labour party and its acolytes continuing to blame national for its own (labours) inability to deliver. Labour's in power - they should use it and deliver something/anything. Yes it maybe a long 12 months until the next ...
Greywarshark Because she communicated officially with Twyford on ministerial letterhead and in her capacity as the Associate Minister of Transport. Therefore she has an obligation to release the contents of this letter. Furthermore the main content of the ...
You would know.
They're not her rules. They're set by whoever is responsible for arranging youth parliaments. Tolley is not that person.
Who's Carma? A friend of yours?
SPC If you believe National's behaviour was 'pretty illegal' why don't you take a private prosecution against them for their apparent 'illegal' activity. Test it in the courts. Nothing is stopping you.
According to whom Muttonbird? What poll are you relying on for these figures? If its one of the most recent TV1 or TV3 polls, because their results are totally opposed to each other, the common conclusion is that they're both, putting it mildly, unreliable...
What on earth are you talking about SPC? What is `National's 'deep state'? Who is it comprised of? What does it do? How does it related to Treasury's release of budget material? Sounds to me like you've been watching too many cheap spy stories and ...
Actually it is true. How is not true? It was a public website - yes. Treasury placed the documents onto it - yes. Anyone could access the website legally -yes. The Police and the GCSB decided it wasn't hacking and that the Nats had no case to answer. So, ...
Red Logix National did not 'break security and confidentiality.' Treasury, all by themselves, put 'confidential' budget documents onto their public website - thereby enabling any interested party to access them legally. This situation does not create a ...
Treasury placed the information on its public web site. In so doing they made it available to the public - including the Nats. By placing it on their publicly accessed website, they authorised its access (even if inadvertently). So it wasn't a hack. It ...
Whats your point Grubby?
Get over yourself Muttonbird. You're acting like a snow flake Whats 'frightening' is the lying manipulative behaviour of Robertson, Ardern and Peters in attempting to smear National for their own political purposes. Try opening both eyes as you review the ...
Not at all Sacha. Simply seeking balance here, on this site. Given the budget shambles its pretty clear that its Labour who are involved in dirty politics. National was just doing its job - and legally it turns out. Peters is just a stupid old goat who ...
Shouldn't the heading for this post be "Same Old Dirty Labour" Perhaps it could be "Same Old Lying Peters" as an alternative.
