I actually agree with you, I also think the Greens will get a good result come the next election. The more problems they have with their MP's eg. Gloriz and Tana, the more popular they seem to get. Although I think a lot of the vote will come from a very ...
I would like to get a job like Darleen Tana has. Being paid a large well above average salary, and not even having to get out of bed for it!. Sorry Chloe, but you are just floundering in this interview. Yes it's very serious allegations etc. etc. At this ...
You should try it.
I think it is ridiculous that the chief executive gets six months salary to leave. He is not being made redundant. Should be a months notice. Some of these contracts are ridiculous.
Gloriz has received a conviction and a small fine. The fine is virtually irrelevant, but the conviction is more of a punishment. Former Green Party MP Golriz Ghahraman denied discharge without conviction, fined after $9k shoplifting spree - NZ Herald
They removed the bolts / nuts of three legs all at once! If they hadn't been doing 'maintenance", it wouldn't have fallen over.
Pretty hard not to blame the workers. I'm no engineer, but who in their right mind would unbolt three of the four legs of the tower all at once!
"Mornez Green, managing director of Omexom, the company completing maintenance on the power, said the incident was “unprecedented”. “We removed too many nuts from the bolts that resulted in the tower falling over." So I presume Omexom will be up for a ...
They will leave it up to the department heads, and asking for voluntary redundancies first, makes the job less painful. If they didn't ask for voluntary redundancies first, and simply made their choices, I'm sure many commenters on here would argue that ...
It is a shame that unfortunately some of the more talented will take the voluntary redundancy and work elsewhere (either in NZ or overseas as per "Red" in the article). And then this often leaves the department with the "deadwood" that are really the ones ...
If you consider Helen Clark's Labour nine years as now being right wing, then yes I am right wing.
Wouldn't really call myself a right wing troll, just a centre voter highlighting another point of view, but I guess in your opinion everyone has to agree on this site that anything the blue team does is bad, and everything the red/green team do is good. ...
Poor Cara, she must be very upset that rents have increased so much under the last government, and the increased landlord's costs were passed on (as expected).
The polls are a meaningless waste of time at the moment. I will start to look at them some time in 2026. As they say, a week is a long time in politics, so even if they are showing Labour on 60% now, in a years time it could all change.
This is why Hipkins needs to go. He's now saying spending $1m on consultants for evaluating a tunnel is bad, whereas when Labour spent $51m on a cycle bridge over the harbour that was all ok? "I think it's one of those kinds of flight of fancy, that is ...
If he is allowed to claim it and is within the rules, what's the big deal? Kierran McNulty also does it and I'm sure many other do too. I have no issue as long as they go by the rules. NZ politics live: Labour’s Kieran McAnulty claims housing perk to live ...
This is terrible. Another child senselessly murdered. And yet we are still waiting for justice for baby Ru! Oranga Tamariki, police continue investigation into ‘violent’ death of Te Kūiti baby - NZ Herald
I think it is terrible in the first place that the payroll software did not calculate their holiday pay correctly. We all rely on computers these days and they should be confident the program they use does the correct calculations. Possibly it was human ...
A person that works 4 hours a day, 5 days a week gets 10 days sick leave (but are only paid 10 days for 4 hours a day). I don't think there is any change there. Where I think it is unfair at the moment, is a person that works 4 hours one day a week will ...
No I have no problem with the 10 days sick leave entitlement for a full time worker, but think it's unfair that a person working one day a week gets the same. For example, if a person works one day a week for one company, and one day a week for another ...
Could Labour end up winning another seat if this goes bad for the Maori party? Labour leader Chris Hipkins says Te Pāti Māori allegations very serious - NZ Herald
I think the change to sick leave is sensible. We have a person at work that is semi retired and works one day a week (4 hours). So he works 48 days a year due to annual leave, and is entitled to 10 days sick leave if required. Whereas a person working five...
They may well be better off after the budget.
I would have thought it would have been better to plan the protest for after the budget so that they would actually know what is in the budget.
Apologies, I hadn't had my morning coffee when commenting above so wasn't fully awake. The minimum wage gets you in to the 30% tax bracket not 33%! Still far too high a tax rate IMO. And then of course, anything you spend your net income on mostly has GST ...
Lets hope today is the day that a government finally increases the tax brackets that haven't increased for about 13 years, even though the minimum wage has increased from around $13.00 per hour in 2011 to $23.15 today, as a person working full time on the ...
I don't think ALL NZ'ers will see what the government is doing as good for them. But they are doing what a majority of voters voted for.
Can we please have just one Green MP that can control themselves (like an adult), that does not require to either go on a course of "de-escalation", or need help for mental health issues and the leaders do not have to apologise for their actions. NZ ...
Kiri Allan decided to change her plea to "Guilty" at the last minute to refusing to accompanying police. I guess she decided that grey area in the law wasn't so important to test or wasn't so grey after all. Kiri Allan crash: Former Justice Minister ...
Sorry to hear you're not having much luck. Try Tinder. LOL.
If she pleads guilty I guess they would more likely say "appearing in court" whereas she will now be on trial to decide whether she is guilty or not guilty. And that was her choice not to plead guilty.
