Farmers are of course red-neck National supporters so obviously will not be encouraged by a Labour govt. Such is the short minded system we have instead of both working for the good of the country... one might wish a pox on the lot of them BUT .....
Surely better would be "Natives not Pine" except that Native grow slower and so take longer to be effective [?] but last longer[?] or perhaps "More Natives Fewer Pines"
Latest update this morning is that Farage is with drawing his candidates where they were competing against the conservatives. Just going against Labour etc. 300 plus miffed candidates I suppose :)
My son just sold his house in near Denver where in the valley it is against the local law to have water tanks/storage etc as the authorities want the water to flow off and used elsewhere. Quite mad some societies I think :)
One of society's false concepts...."Rain is bad, Sunny weather is great" Something we hear almost every day from folk talking about the forecast.
That was my first thought when hearing the reports of the fire. I drink a lot of tap water, perhaps 95% of what I drink. perhaps I should change to drinking 'bottled water' and just use tap water for my other needs. The use of toxic fire-suppressants, ...
KAY I think you deliberately misread my suggestion since I am thought here to be of the 'right' whereas I am sure in my mind I am really a sensible and pragmatic leftie which puts me pretty much in the centre. Willing to accept good ideas wherever they ...
Yes I did and I am not sure I understand it any better.
I see it as a logical alternative to "Throwing more money at them" which to date has failed badly. Perhaps a better idea would be to reduce the basic benefit but with extra amounts as a reward for efforts to get off the benefit ... instead of the pathetic ...
Incognito Plese explain to somebody not as worldly as you what 'dog whisling' means :)
I do not think I am strong on facts but I believe the total in past years has been 750 pa and that is going up to 1500 pa
I see part of the problem as with our good nature we are accepting refugees and housing them ahead of kiwi citizens. We should look after our own ahead of inviting people from overseas.
The latest from Muriel Newman at NZCPR question if Labour is soft on welfare and guest writer https://www.nzcpr.com/the-road-to-hell-is-paved-with-good-intentions/ tells us that given all the options somebody on welfare could get around $950pw while if ...
It should be Craig but the trouble is the inflexibility of state department's thinking. But I doubt if a private "department" would work any better. Isn't the problem of the polies/voters wanting a dividend from a trading dept? So housing department's ...
I definitely think that state housed folk should not be permitted to occupy multi bedroom houses at the expense of multi children families. However also in state house areas the state should build an range of properties so that single people left by their ...
I doubt if David Farrar would agree with me that polls largely depend on the people they poll. For a period I was polled by one and at that time I thought Winston Peters was of value and after a period my wife stopped buying from the polling site and my ...
Thank you TRP for that interesting comment on my objection to the four letter word in question ,,,,BUTI think it is irrelvent to NZ and describes a section of the English political life. As for the relative IQ of correspondents to the two blogs, I might ...
Two things amuse me about this thread/ Anybody using the term "Tory" is obviously a way gone leftie and can/should be ignored. That the media is right wing ..... LOL .... at Kiwiblog they say the opposite and from working in it I would personally agree ...
"... but 12,000 people's votes were not counted because they didn't rank enough candidates under STV" Surely that is not correct? I am sure I read somewhere that you only needed to make a 'One' next to one person if you wished, or were lazy/hosed off by ...
I think most of the birds would quickly discover and avoid the danger of the blades. I doubt if the noise would unduely affect people, as I recently had to get used to and learnt to ignore the noise of the harbour dredge working level with my house. No it ...
I am glad that I will be ashes before as a ratepayer I would be forced to contribute to that grandiose scheme though I am impressed by the skill and competence of the video makers :)
To go Solar should be an individuals choice which I would support if I could as I have adopted most other energy saving options. Encourage rather than Rule. 'eyesores' is an opinion rather than a fact which sadly escapes many, I wonder how much real use ...
Some time ago I commented that trade unions, and the like, have been too successful in pushing for more money for us normals. I didn't bookmark it so I could see what response I got if any but today listening the 9-Noon programme on dogs the thought struck...
"live off the land and sea" as hunters as humans did before farming started.
I have thought for some time now that the Unions have been too successful and priced workers out of jobs. I didn't argue, except to myself, but I was enjoying life, raising /supporting a family, on less than half of my closing salary thanks to the efforts ...
BUT But they were taken out of public ownership basically because that was a bad sytem because humans were involved in running them .... sad but true :)
A few million times NO :) What would you live on without what the farmers indirectly provide for most of us though their efforts? I drink far more water than stuff contaminated by tea/coffee etc. A crazy suggestion .... one , we, cannot live on just pure ...
And Labour are so pure and cleam ...yeah RIGHT :)
Whatever his sins it is disgusting that he is reviled in his death. Typical human reaction which makes me question the validity of the human race. Better such folk be ignored in their passing.
Blazer ----Better would be " only the responsible should be able to reproduce "
