Benjamin Netanyahu said. “What we will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations.” Openly declaring collective punishment.
Grant is absolutely mopping the floor with Nicola. She might be good at the snarky comebacks, but when it comes to knowing your shit, well she ain't shit. Also, the applause (if it's any guide) is rote and clockwork for Nicola; a predictable clap when she ...
"And I took that personally"
No. I meant I'd like to see the outrage from NACT, but occurred to me Labour would be miffed as well.
Actually, I'd like to see that, just for the seething outrage from NACT! And Labour, presumably.
Any idea on how this works? I just can't imagine voting because of a logo. I wonder if it's something to do with being enabled or emboldened once you see other people you respect doing it? The same with hoardings I guess, if it works, it works.
Honestly, where do they dig these idiots up from? (It's another ACT candidate.) ACT leader David Seymour says a social media post from one of his candidates was a "very stupid thing to do." Tim Newman, the party's Dunedin candidate, liked a comment on ...
Is it too petty? I just listened to JK's plea message on rnz, the guy sounds like he's drunk. Slurry, unclear. How did he ever become PM?
Actually no. It's a quirk of the Huawei handset. It copies some things as a quote and you can paste that, but pasting from a copy doesn't work (like links etc) in this text field.
Thanks James, because that's totally the point I was making.
TDB has it (phone can't paste, but it's there now). I thought I saw it on an MSM site too, but lost it again. National 35.9% ↑0.9 Labour 27.9% ↑1.4 ACT 9.1% ↓5.2 Green 10.6% ↓2.1 NZ First 6.9% ↑3.0 Māori 3.7% ↑0.8 Other 5.8% ↑1.1
That's beautiful. And depressing.
"immediately repeats error" Wow, what a chump! He shouldn't even apologise this makes him look even shiftier! He should just double down on the "up to" like it's obvious (which it is, or should be).
I have an uncomfortable feeling like this too. Winston doesn't give a shit about the bulk of us, he's just after some kind of legacy. Give him a knighthood and a high ministry, he'll swallow any rat. Seymour is just demonstrating how much damage he can ...
This is a very pertinent point. Once they're elected they'll have no problem implementing whatever they like, claiming 'mandate'. Key's lot did it all the time.
I agree. Rawiri and James did well, even the 'expert' panel agreed. I usually like to watch Winston just for the huff and puff, but tonight he was just ... boring. Sad really. Seymour was a bit flat too, he might have gained one or two stragglers, but he ...
Did anyone else think he sounded close to tears in his final speech? Almost felt sorry for him.
"remember when I asked for your opinion, David? Neither do I!" Zing!
It's have to agree, Lux was pretty distasteful; but hardly in the league of Winston Peters who called Brendan Horan the "Jimmy Savile" of NZ politics! Or the wongs-whites comments he made that he thought was so funny. Gross.
He's got a charm and personability that DeLuxe just ain't. Also, he's talking up LP's many achievements, something that's been sorely missing from this election. (Also, it seems a bit weird that the questioner has Labour signs up as well, I thought it was ...
7pm. Hipkins is doing a "town hall" q and a session stuff right now. In lieu of the debate he didn't get to do I guess.
What in that article did you find particularly nasty?
Good!
There's no one really that stands out; but until Jacinda stepped up, she didn't really either. Kelvin might have the statesman-like vibe, but he doesn't play that 'gotcha' game with the media so well. I still think Grant would have done ok as leader. It's ...
Chippy said he'd reschedule any other date, provide another debater or even do it via zoom, and Lux still declined. Man, that's as much of a sook out as you can get.
You know, that's not a completely stupid tactic if the Nats were up to it. It would be pretty risky, and annoy a few people (debate ticket holders etc), but it may enhance the idea they're trying to create that "the contest was over a long time ago". Dunno...
Some examples please? (Not because I need proof, just for the schadenfreude 😈)
What could possibly be in it for Nat to pull out of the Press debate? Surely Luxon isn’t that much of a sook? https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/133039988/live-christopher-luxon-pulls-out-of-press-leaders-debate
Yes. It's by no means a fait accompli, far from it.
Of course they can work together. They just won't be able to form a government in any way, unless National drastically changes its regressive policies. The GP could still vote in favour of good legislation, were Nat ever to put any forward.
It's much cheaper to prevent poverty and crime than it is to deal with it. Cheaper for society (or community) that is, but it doesn't create 'value' for any shareholders. You can't make money off it.
