Wouldn’t a Key endorsement of Banks be an admission that a Labour-led government is possible if ACT doesn’t make it?

Is the delay in Key’s endorsement because the Nats are worried that revelations will make Banks unelectable regardless and an endorsement will tarnish Brand Key by association?

Is it true that ACT is seeking legal advice on removing Banks from the ballot?

Why are senior ACT campaign people leaving like rats from a sinking ship?

  1. Wouldn’t a Key endorsement of Banks be an admission that a Labour-led government is possible if ACT doesn’t make it?
Yes, that’s clear. It would both signal a lack of confidence that National can govern alone and a lack of desire to govern solely with the help of the Maori Party/UF or – in Matthew Hooton’s brainstorms – the Greens. That lack of desire in turn signals that the preference is to ‘go right’. Any notion that National are, or intend to be, ‘centrist’ goes out the window with such an endorsement.

Is the delay in Key’s endorsement because the Nats are worried that revelations will make Banks unelectable regardless and an endorsement will tarnish Brand Key by association?
I have no idea. Do you James? According to some polls Banks is starting to become less electable without any (further) revelations about him or his politics.

Is it true that ACT is seeking legal advice on removing Banks from the ballot?

I had heard something about that, but some time ago. Are there recent departures?

You can bet your left mammary that a massive programme to convince Epsom salts to vote Banks will already be in train. As the old tory saying goes: Better to have a steaming mass of maggot-infested pus inside the tent, than….risk losing an election.

SmirKey’s coy “not today” endorsement is designed to deflect and postpone any criticism or press focus (i.e. that nice, honest, non-politician John would blatantly rort the democratic system – again) until the last minute.

But you never know, nek minnit, Labour might just hammer the point skillfully and assiduously or the media might grow a pair. Both being highly unlikely, bank on a Banks-Wanks copulation.

Seems to me that if the politician that had an affair with a drug user is indeed John Banks, then those who hold the proof will want to keep it until after Key endorses him.

Can you imagine, 4 days out Key endorses Banks, and then the next day his skeleton is trotted out for all to see?

    • mik e 2.2

Or he might just fire blanks

  3. Well one thing that you know for sure is that if the videoed politician engaged in having an affair with a drug user was a leftie then Slater would be having daily posts revealing bit by bit details of who and what.

His ominous silence is a sign that things are not good right now in RWNJ world.

Whatever Lionel Hutz, Cameron Slater is not shy about bringing up the foibles of MPs on both sides of the house.

      • Colonial Viper 3.1.1

lol you’re positioning Slater as having some kind of democratic value? What a bad joke. Slater is paid to smear the Left, and also the members of the Right who aren’t towing the line, and that’s all he does.

        • chris73 3.1.1.1

lol you’re positioning Slater as having some kind of democratic value?
          – Nope he just doesn’t like it when MPs (on both sides) act like idiots

What a bad joke. Slater is paid to smear the Left, and also the members of the Right who aren’t towing the line, and that’s all he does.
          – Got proof or is that just wishful thinking?

          • Maynard J 3.1.1.1.1

            Chris – have a look through Slater’s blog…you clearly haven’t before.

            • lprent 3.1.1.1.1.1

Yep that would be my advice as well. You only have to read his site to see what his targeting strategies are. It isn’t like he brings any intelligence to the job either. A very blunt obsessional instrument.

As for the payment side. It is a rather expensive operation for someone who is reported to be on a sickness benefit if you only look at the page views reported on alexa. There is only a wee figleaf of advertising on the site to pay for it. I must find some time to backtrack his systems after I get the code for the current project through testing.

            • chris73 3.1.1.1.1.2

Lets see, off the top of my head he:

              Wrote about Graham Capill

Wrote about the suppression order involving dogs (in Remuera so I’m assuming it involves someone right wing)
              http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/2011/04/now-name-suppression-includes-dog-names/

and oh yes that thing he did about breaking the suppression order of the ex-mp charged with indecently assaulting a 13 year old

              Maynard J – have a look through Slater’s blog…you clearly haven’t before.

The reason he slams Labour so much is because Labour give him so much ammunition

              • lprent

Pretty weak. Authors here hit NAct so much because they give us so much ammo.

Whale goes for suppression orders because he likes media attention. That is so clearly his intent, which he covers with a fig leaf. We follow the courts rulings even when we vehmentally disagree with them – like the operation 8 suppression farce. We will argue rye case for changing the law rather than squealing like a attention seeking child waving it’s dick in public.

However we also hit Labour, greens and whoever. I have written my share of those posts about Labour policies and practices. I am a strong Labour supporter. You’ll see them written about damn near every group across the left here, and usually by supporters. You do them to express disagreement with direction. Very occasionally you’ll get a attack post on a person – like the one I dashed off on Chris Carter when he tried his silly media coup

But look at Whale. Quite clearly, he indulges in bitchy little personal vendettas. Most of the time I get the impression that he is doing them for whoever last stroked his ego.

Quite frankly whale is a joke. You look like one as well

A trolls work is never done, facts are annoying inconveniences and reality is something to be distorted into whatever suits their purposes.

What intrigues me is how many of them there are and how much time they devote to attempting to derail post after post……nice work if you can get it, wonder if we taxpayers are funding that also.

    According to

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candidates_in_the_New_Zealand_general_election_2011_by_electorate

Act is running candidates in 43 seats, my concern is could Act get the 5% required of the party vote, or even take one of these seats?, even though the main Actors appear to be playing out a death sceen and will return to take their places on the party list shortly before the final curtain.
