In politics, one week is a long time.
And for this year, the week on either side of Queen’s birthday weekend was especially interesting. And particularly hectic for some key people!
Mickysavage has raised the point that both the events relating to the Prime Minister John Key demanding Minister Peter Dunne’s resignation, and the Speaker David Carter offering Dunne a lifeline, look really shonky and need to be looked at simultaneously: /open-mike-09062013/#comment-645778
It was almost exactly a week (well, short of nine minutes) from the time of the Electoral Commission’s announcement of United Future’s deregistration (initiated by the request from the UF party president) to the statement given by Peter Dunne following his resignation as Minister.
