Voting update

After yesterday’s post on voting some commenters mentioned they have not yet received their ballot papers.

The good news is that they’re on their way. This from an email sent out by Tim Barnett:

the last of the ballots to eligible voters have been sent out (there were so many that some did not get mailed out until today). If you have not yet received your postal ballot, there is no need to panic. Contact Head Office on 08004LABOUR or email reception@labour.org.nz and if necessary they will go through the process with you to get your vote re-issued. In addition, online voting is open until 12.00 noon on Sunday 15th, and there is an option of votes being sent electronically (via your email).

So if you’ve not received your ballot yet don’t panic. On the other hand, if you’ve not received your ballot by Friday please contact HQ – you’ll probably need to vote electronically.

And, finally, the Labour party runs on the smell of an oily rag and they’re all working their guts out to make sure this election is run in a way we can be proud of (and they’re doing a bloody good job of it). Please be patient if you can’t get through or if things take a little while. Indeed, if you can offer help or a donation please do – democracy costs a bit of money but it pays so much more back in unity and strength.
