No inquiry into Solid Energy
Solid Energy will not face a Select Committee Inquiry after Government MPs voted against it this morning.

The bid was voted down by five National Party MPs, trumping three Labour MPs and one Green MP who were in favour of it.
Green Party MP Gareth Hughes says the decision is disappointing the Government’s MPs voted it down.
We don’t want any more embarrassing details about the Nats encouraging Solid Energy to take on too much debt coming to light now do we.
Labour is now expected to ask Parliament’s watch dog – the Auditor General – for an inquiry.
