Xenophobia – a Nat guide

If you’re playing at home, here’s the rules according to National:

Passing a law to whip up fear that hordes of Asian refugees are soon going to be landing on our shores, despite no evidence = not xenophobic

Repealing Part 6A of the Employment Relations Act, the ‘cleaners’ law’, which essentially gives a fairer deal to cleaners who are most Pasifika women = not xenophobic

Using bene-bashing as thinly disguised Maori bashing = not xenophobic

Making jokes about Maori being cannibals = not xenophobic

PM telling foreign born MPs to go back where they came from = not xenophobic

Preventing all foreigners regardless of ethnicity, except Australians regardless of ethnicity, from buying existing houses so that Kiwis currently locked out of the housing market can buy = xenophobic
