This is from the school that was targeted with precision munitions delivered by the US. The majority of of dead were torn limb from limb so that all that could be done was to deliver 70kg bags of assorted body parts to grieving family members:

One of the most heart-wrenching cases from the Israeli massacre at Al-Tabeen School that we’ve faced at the Baptist Al-Ahli Hospital in #Gaza was that of a 16-year-old boy with crushed legs, a severed left hand, and severe injuries to his body. As we began the urgent surgery, I was horrified to find the shattered head of another person among the bones of his legs—recognized only by the mouth & chin. It was a scene beyond what the heart can endure. Despite our best efforts, the severe bleeding took his life during the operation. We handed his body to his family !!!! There are dozens more with similar injuries, and with each passing moment, we lose another soul.

Potaka is proud of the 32% drop in people in emergency housing in 6 months.

"Potaka said from emergency housing, around half of people went into some form of social housing and about 30% accessed an accommodation supplement indicating they went on to private accommodation. He said it was “uncertain” where the remaining 20% of people went after they left emergency housing.

So you think he would be duty bound to find out if those who left went to somewhere better or are they back in cars. Typical rat bag.

    Columnist re-education.

1.That the methanex plant is using a finite resource (gas) and going offline for a few months, because it can make more money supplying gas for power (than making methanol) in dry years is evidence of the electricity market working.

It is the NI equivalent of the smelter in the SI (it goes offline in return for cheaper power).

2.And soon will come along battery storage of wind power, a useful partner for the next big thing which is off-shore wind turbines off the Taranaki coast.

These batteries are the more scaled alternative to the one big project Onslow dam storage.

Then there is home and business (rooftops) supply back into the grid. As this grows more of the windfarm power will be stored in the battery.

I support people who need financial reports for MSD / Kainga Ora to verify their level of hardship. It's been a few years since I had clients living in their cars but this week I met people for whom it is now a reality. Easy budget – $30 per adult per day for food costs. No power / water / rent charges. Sadly hygiene levels not easy to keep up. These clients had been in emergency housing.

    • We are definitely going back to utter hardship. You mention hygiene, but cooking hot food, the cold weather and fines if they park in public places. This Government stopped the building. Not because it wasn't needed, but because they needed the money to balance their tax cut books. Sadly that was even not enough They have borrowed heavily as well. "Back on track" to austerity poverty and joblessness. Thank you for your mahi Patricia 2
