The CTU’s excellent campaign to get a stronger version of National’s post-Pike River Health and Safety law has produced this excellent video:
National are removing a lot of the rights proposed in the bill from workers in companies with fewer than 20 employees – companies like lots of the contractors at Pike River.
Labour’s Iain Lees-Galloway is planning on proposing amendments to the legislation to fix a lot of these holes as it goes through parliament, and wants as many signatures backing the changes as possible – you can sign here to support.
Hopefully with enough support the likes of Peter Dunne and NZ First will back the amendments and we’ll get a bill that protects a lot more New Zealanders than what National proposes…
