  1. SPC 1

It's been 20 years since I asked a columnist (TM) at the Herald to cover Maori issues, given they seemed frightened to hire someone who might do that.

From the Public Interest Journalism Fund stable.

Im struggling to make sense of this https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/timaru-teen-sex-offender-blake-miller-avoids-jail-after-75-sentence-discount-after-offences-against-child/WAMSDGRNNFERVODVWJHRCRZHTI/

Pretty horrific, what I cant figure out given the age of the victim (11) and the reasons given for a heavily discounted sentence why there is no name suppression in place.

Bit of a look online there are few threads tbat seem to identify the victim.

Seems like a real cluster fuck.

  4. SPC 4

The C of C is to amend 2011 legislation to clarify its intent.

Apparently this has changed since the TPM was part of the government.

      From that link

"What we're trying to do is balance the fact that all New Zealanders have an interest in what goes on on the coast…"

Except when the Fast Track Legislation removes our ability to influence what goes on on the coast. Hypocrites!
