Cause and effect. Because National have been trying to avoid thinking about housing and homelessness and failed to deal with it in a timely manner – now they have a real problem that is going to take a bundle of spending to correct. Just like a dozen different other areas from infrastructure to polluted waterways.
National have shoved the collective kiwi arse into a cleft stick between killing the ‘value’ of the housing assets supporting the household debt and the rising costs of people being unable to find a place to live. Consequently families are freezing themselves on the streets and the government has the rapidly rising cost of trying to deal with just the most politically sensitive cases.
National really are completely incompetent managers of the economy. Labour always winds up having to bail the short-sighted National mother fuckers out of the insane stupidities – while also trying to do it after National has kicked the government debt up to insane levels..
