Not much has changed in 30+ years

For all you people out there who think women are bigots cause they don't want to share their change rooms with men who identify as women, please watch this.

I am sick of having my desire for single sex toilets/change rooms trivialized (even though women's rights for this are set out in the human rights act)

For those of you who are interested feel free to watch the clip at the Wi Day spa where a women confronts staff about a male who identifies as a women being in a spa pool naked with his penis out around women and childrent. I posted in on Mickey Savages post about the new hate speech proposals.

Not sure that a former NRA spokesgargoyle is a particularly effective addition to your argument. Jes' sayin'.

  3. Anker 4

andre that is irrelevant. listen to what she is saying about the bathroom issue.

a bit over men not hearing that separate change rooms matter to women and girls

    • Andre 4.1

Someone that has spent a career lying, misrepresenting, and distorting facts to the point of unrecognisability takes that reputation to whatever new arena they choose to infest. Particularly when they were doing that in service of an organisation as vile as the NRA.

In short, if it's presented by Dana Loesch, it's very likely to be an extreme distortion or misrepresentation, or outright lie.

No, I can't be bothered trying to work out exactly how Loesch is trying to misrepresent. I'm simply mistrustful of whomever is using her to try to bolster their own argument.

and I can't be bothered researching your assertion that she has spent her career lying etc.

Her message is simple here. Trans women say it awful to have to use male bathrooms. And a lot of women and girls say it is awlful having people who are biological males use their change rooms as the case in the Wi Spa where a man who identified as a women was naked with his penis out in a spa pool with women and girls.

But trans women's needs are being prioritized over biological women in this respect and that is sexism. That's her message. The age of old story of women just have to put up shut up and accommodate

where a man who identified as a women was naked with his penis out in a spa pool with women and girls.

In the pool? Or in the changing room? Was the transwoman waving her dick around (ain't language funny when it evolves)? Or trying to be discrete and had a towel slip, if that?

Maybe the issue isn't the person, but the behaviour.

this is the clip I have. Scroll down to see the woman confronting him. It is irrelevant if the trans woman’s towel slipped. The woman speakng up, said he had a testicle so I guess more than a towel slip. I don’t know if the spa pool was a naked one or not. Many separate facilitie allow people to go into pools without clothes on.

    • McFlock 6.1

Exactly. That's all anyone has to go on.

I couldn't even hear half of it, let alone get a precise description of what happened. And yet various places online call it "walking around exposing his penis", "with his penis out in a spa pool", "obscene incident", “graphic behavior “… all based on that video?

Heck of a lot of projection going on, there. Or at least a political football being kicked around.

But if a transwoman was behaving objectionably, it's the behaviour that could be moderated. Nothing is stopping any facility having a rule about that.

So the spa in question is known for being trans inclusive…

"a patron at the business went viral for posting a video complaining that “a biological male” was in the women’s section, misgendering a trans woman who was allowed in Wi Spa’s female section under the business’ policies."

      https://www.indy100.com/news/andy-ngo-wi-spa-trans-protest-b1877875

And someone takes their child there expecting to have standard changing room policies?

And the video then gets posted on an instagram channel sporting posts like this?

      https://www.instagram.com/lexitmovement/

Looks like you're being played, but your own prejudices have made you too blind to do any fact checking.

All of the above took me five minutes on Google.

If you're running with Tucker Carlson, Dan Loesch, Andy Ngo and assorted Jesus freaks then you're probably immune to facts anyway.

      This fucking place angry

      • Anker 6.2.1

I am not sure what facts you are referring to Cinder. Is your point the Wi spa is known as being trans inclusive?

so the women and girls in the change room should have known they could see a trans women with a penis?

that doesn’t make sense to me as the women who filmed the video seemed angry and reported others were unhappy too. The young Asian women in the video looked decidedly unhappy too. And then there was a protest and a women reported that her six year old daughter was in the spa pool and a transgender women with a beard and a penis got into the pool. This mother was unhappy about that. Do you understand why?

these women were described as being traumatised. Do you care about that? Humans are programmed for their flight flight mechanism to go off if they perceive threat (even if there is no real threat). This is likely what happened.

Do you expect women to just automatically accept a biological male in their change room? If they have children there? Do you expect women to just go to another spa? What if there are no longer any spas where they want have the same experience? Should women just give up going to spas?

This is unusual. Shaw is likely to go before Davidson, but this challenge seems more a publicity stunt than anything. I've not heard much about Cockle in relation to Otago Greens, and his only appearance on the GP website is a RSVP to a call-centre drive. He certainly wasn't one of the candidates for either Dunedin, or Taieri last election, nor anywhere on the party list that I can see. Tuiono would be my pick for Shaw's successor, but not for a while yet.

Extinction Rebellion is a good name, but a commitment to rebellion sits awkwardly within a political organization dedicated to making peaceful legislative change such as the GP. Being right isn't enough if you have more vague intentions than specific plans.
