The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

The site will be off line for some hours.
Kainga Ora in big trouble as higher debt (and interest rates) ,higher building costs ( also poor allocation of resource) and depreciating assets provide perfect storm.
KO is also a large contributor of Building inflation.Little money for upgrades to meet regulatory reforms.

Anything to win, the right have no soul. Fake climate organisation undermining climate policy.

Dr Sharma won't be getting a Christmas card from Jacinda this year. Unlikely he will be in Labour party after the next election too.
Opinion: Labour MP Dr Gaurav Sharma blows whistle on Parliament bullying, takes aim at officials, party whips – NZ Herald
"The above Member-to-Member and Party-to-Member bullying rampant in Parliament is – I believe – promoted and facilitated by this very organisation by working behind the scenes with the Whips Office, the Offices of the Leaders of various Parties, along with the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and the Prime Minister's Office."
He's certainly not a happy chappy.
A wee chappy in a crappy nappy is never happy…………..
It's a useful insight into the workings of Parliament, and deserves proper consideration. It is about Parliament, which is not the same thing as government (you'd think everyone would know that, but sadly not).
Unfortunately, reporters lacking basic reading comprehension skills (like the one on Newshub tonight) will ignore the essential point. "Parliamentary services" doesn't grab headlines, because hardly anybody knows who they are or what they do. (If anyone doubts that, ask whoever you know or work with to name the head of the organisation).
As for Dr Sharma's prospects, it is standard practice for MPs in any party to inform the caucus or whips about any opinion columns they provide to the media. If he did that, there's no problem. If he didn't, his colleagues would want an explanation.
Now it becomes much clearer. I'll withdraw my first sentence above. It's a rant by somebody who's had issues for over a year.

As Stuff points out, no details are provided (who? when? about what? etc).
Of course there will be many follow-up questions, he must be incredibly naive if he thinks you can make all these claims and then not be available for comment. That's not how the media works.
I would say he will be a one term MP.
I suspect that he's seen that writing on the wall for over a year.
He's Hamilton West. Labour won it off National with the Jacinda bounce in 2020 (first time in 15 years). They're unlikely to retain it.
Given that he’s been twiddling this thumbs on the back bench for the last 18 months – with no sign that Labour have any interest in using his expertise (GP, Fullbright scholar and MBA) – he must know that his political career is effectively dead in the water.
Nothing to lose….
A CV is not necessarily evidence of political talent. Don Brash would have been PM if it was. Then there's the Harvard boys (Cunliffe, Reti, Shane Jones).
If Sharma was an up-and-comer then he's had those 18 months to say something smart in a debate, propose a useful member's bill, or a dozen other ways to catch the eye. But until today, nobody knew he was there.
(And if it’s “nothing to lose” for him, that kind of proves why he isn’t needed. There’s a lot to lose for the people who want a Labour gov’t, and that’s far more important than any MPs’ personal gripes).
Well 'not being available for comment' won't be an option when he's asked to explain by his boss.
Who is his boss?
The whip(s)?
Edit: this is what he’ll need to explain “Sharma alleged widespread bullying at Parliament, including by his own party whips, the prime minister’s office and others, although no evidence was provided to support the claims.”

Who is his boss? Anwer the question, not with another question. You are in Pre-Mod, so don’t waste my time or anybody else’s for that matter; you have done that more than enough here.
I did answer the question. The whip(s). They are the one's he'll be answering to.
"Sharma alleged widespread bullying at Parliament, including by his own party whips, the prime minister’s office and others, although no evidence was provided to support the claims."
This is your answer:
See the problem or are you deliberately obtuse?
The problem seems to be your mood this evening.
The problem is a tiny wee “?” and you being obtuse.
You're getting awfully worked up about tiny wee ?. I would have thought you had better things to do.
[You’re right, this isn’t working and you’re wasting too much of my valuable time tonight despite being warned. Take a long weekend off and see you on Monday – Incognito]
Mod note
A weekend without Li-bel.
Is that long enough?
Dr Sharma just marked himself as one of the 20+ no-account go-nowhere fools to get flushed out of Labour in 2023.
His bio is actually quite impressive.
Something's gone wrong for him somewhere.
Plenty of good cv's in that building.
What goes wrong for most of them is failure to get anywhere. There's blame all round for that, for sure. But workplace culture is the least of it.
Many are obviously not "no-account go-nowhere fools". Winning and then later losing a safe National seat is no indicator of merit, or lack of.
Of course there will be election-year spats about list placings. A disgruntled MP will be ranked 55 and fear missing out. Happens every 3 years.
Anyone think the press should be having a look at this.
Very misogynistic I would have thought.

[Take 2 months off: one month for trolling and diversion using YT clip as bait, for which you were on notice (https://thestandard.org.nz/open-mike-14-07-2022/#comment-1899931), and one month for trying to sling mud at Clarke Gayford – Incognito]
If you want people to watch videos from the right wing sewer, you need to label them first.
For everyone else: It's from 1999, about Clark Gayford. Desperate diversion attempt, like that ancient clip of Simon Bridges, a student complaining about "gays" on TV3 (I won't link to that, even though it was on the news years ago, not interested in sinking to your level).
Pataua4life ,, I wish you did think !?
