    The idea this Govt is more wasteful than others is not supported by evidence. Govts spend more in crisis periods, and the Sixth Labour Govt has faced a few expensive ones. Total Govt spending hit 48.1% of GDP in 2011 under a National Govt with (C&S from Act, UF and TPM).

    Mitt Romney is not seeking re-election to the Senate next year when 77.

    The leader of his church is 94.

    Joseph Biden will be 82 and Trump 78 next year.

    A Fox News poll released last week found that 52% of Americans don’t believe that 77-year-old Donald Trump has the “mental soundness to serve” as president. That same poll showed that 61% of Americans have the same concern about President Joe Biden, who is 80. … Trump, for the most part, gets a pass.

    Over a 100 years ago we were warned about the advent of the Charles Russell Trump Brand on bed era. It seems to be here.

    Fortunately in the forest of Adern, Orlando gets to meet Rosalind and all ends well, because women no longer have to dress up as men to have equality and we can make the world As We Like It.

      image needs resizing.

      • Incognito 3.1.1

        I’ve been resizing so many images lately I might add it to my CV.

          Thinking of becoming a consultant to NACT on reducing the size of government?

          • Incognito 3.1.1.1.1

            My recommendation to NACT would be to reduce all images of of Luxon to one pixel and apply voice-over to all public appearances of Willis at which her mouth moves. For stand-ups interviews of Seymour I’d highly recommend sound effects from a live audience.

        after you make a comment with an oversized image, you can click on edit, and then add this just before the final > in the image code:

        width="100%"

        You can use a lesser % as well (tall images display better smaller)

        This is all that the moderators are doing and most commenters can do this for themselves. You have a 10 minute window I think to edit the comment.

        He joked to friends that the Senate was best understood as a “club for old men.” There were free meals, on-site barbers, and doctors within a hundred feet at all times.

        Perhaps Romney’s most surprising discovery upon entering the Senate was that his disgust with Trump was not unique among his Republican colleagues. “Almost without exception,” he told me, “they shared my view of the president.” In public, of course, they played their parts as Trump loyalists, often contorting themselves rhetorically to defend the president’s most indefensible behavior. But in private, they ridiculed his ignorance, rolled their eyes at his antics, and made incisive observations about his warped, toddlerlike psyche. Romney recalled one senior Republican senator frankly admitting, “He has none of the qualities you would want in a president, and all of the qualities you wouldn’t.”
