The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

Where were the Northland border patrols when they were needed?
Northland has a low vaccination rate and there is fear that in a lower socio-economic environment covid will spread like wildfire.
So someone travelled from the comparative covid hotspot of Auckland to covid virginal Kaikohe in the Bay of Islands. Remember the anger the other week when travellers from Auckland got north and went to the Bay?
“The individuals recently travelled to the Kaikohe area from Auckland. This was permitted travel under alert level 3,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement. Does that make it a state sanctioned importation?

Encouraging news from Pfizer.
“These results provide further evidence of the benefits of boosters as we aim to keep people well-protected against this disease,” said Albert Bourla, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Pfizer. “In addition to our efforts to increase global access and uptake among the unvaccinated, we believe boosters have a critical role to play in addressing the ongoing public health threat of this pandemic. We look forward to sharing these data with health authorities and working together to determine how they can be used to support the rollout of booster doses around the world.”

Yep all the cops, pilots, teachers etc quitting just more catastrophizing by media, RW & social media hype. A fizzer.
Some call those vaccine refusing cops, teachers, "healthcare workers" quitting a catastrophe. I call it improving our community.
Yeah the fact people might actually choose to leave their job because their employment becomes conditional on taking a medical treatment they never signed up for is unthinkable…
not unthinkable, merely inconsequential.
