For instance, are you talking about a 18 year old still at home? or dad / mom working etc…If its a family situation you need to add in accommodation supplement and WFF, which adds a significant amount to the weekly income.
I am also interested to hear comments if say tomorrow the minimum wage was increased to $19.25 per hour (living wage). That would increase gross pay for a 40 hour week by $160.
On the other side of the ledger will be reduced WFF and accommodation supplements…which might leave a family with approx. the same nett income at the end of the week.
The overall effect would be business taking over from the tax payer. And the big winner would be people without family’s…they can bank the $160 week increase (less tax).
All the typical RWNJ excuses for not paying people enough.
Or we could, you know, pay people enough rather than making excuses not to.
