I’m heading off to get some lunch before going to the Green’s campaign launch.

It is (for those like me who forgot) at

The details are:

When: August 17, 2014 at 2pm – 4pm

Make sure you put on your green t-shirts as we want to see a sea of green tomorrow in the crowd.

I believe that is around the AUT city campus.

Map greens launch

I might write some high points if I get some arm-room.

14:15  Ok. this place is FULL. Overflowing into a viewing room and standing room only.

14:16 Catherine Delahunty has unsuspected talents – for a “shy” person she is damn funny.

14:29 The TV ads are pretty damn good.

15:01 Lots of stuff going on. Good speech by Metiria Turei. I’ll have to post it. But it looks like a good match for discussion with Labour to form a coalition.

15:16 Standup. Let us hope no OSH ever see this. Rate increase in income tax to 40% for over 140k, and trusts as well. Picks up $1.1billion to pay for it.

15:20 Interesting looking at the tag team. Turei does the social. Norman looking at the numbers on the economics.

Yes Catherine is very funny. That innate Irish talent comes to the fore. 🙂 Has us in stitches sometimes.

    Green’s tax policy: http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/10392621/Greens-take-from-the-rich-for-the-poor

3 per cent – of taxpayers affected by the Greens new top income tax rate of 40 percent on every dollar earned above $140,000

$500m – the extra revenue raised every year from their new tax rate

$620 million – raised from hiking the trust tax rate to 40 percent and limited tax avoidance through trusts

$60 – a week extra in a Childrens Credit, which would extend the In-Work TAx credit to parents currently ineligible

$2,200 – in a Parental Tax Credit over ten weeks for new born babies whose parents don’t get Paid Parental Leave.

This, and the Greens’ policy for Christchurch, means I’ll be voting for them instead of Labour.

A Labour supporter friend of mine claims the Greens attacked Labour in their launch. Did that happen? If so, what were the attacks?
