The sight of English’s smirk has to be worth at least a few votes for Labour, so this is really a bit self-interested of Ardern.

Fuck it. I’m going to vote for Labour. And I really, REALLY, hated the racist neoliberal mofo’s for 2 decades.

I like Jacinda. But her inexperience is a big issue. Give her a lot of time and she may get there. Good to see that without the greens we may get a decent opposition

National will be a decent opposition?
Hard to see much that’s decent about them…

Robert,if National does end up in opposition it will a breath of fresh air as far as oppositions go. The barrier has been set very low over the last 9 years. Whats your take on labour taxing the shit out of Ashburton irrigators so the bureacrats can blow a bit of money in Auckland ,Waikato ,Taranaki, and the Manawatu to fix up their cruddy rivers.

          Cruddy rivers.

That is a political message from the National Party.

        • LOL I remember last time National was in opposition. All they ever talked about was tax cuts, it was pathetic. I have no doubt they will set a similar standard this time.

    • Ian … nah mate… Aderns had 3 more years in parliament than John Key had , apparently. Also , 37 isn’t too young , we have many young leaders of big influential country’s now. I think she has already shown us shes got steel , can master diplomatic situations, is no fop for the media, yet only too happy to smile, be in a good mood and be conciliatory and facilitate good ideas. Great qualities as a leader.

I like her. Never used to because I suspected she was too close to the Blairite factions,.. but… I think she will do NZ proud .

She accepted the hospital pass and that takes guts and courage. Her fixation with taxing everything that moves will stall her progress and her love of socialism will ultimately deny her the top job.
I see Helen is back to school her up but she ain’t no Helen and Grant Robinson is no Heather Simpson.

Refreshing. An actual believer, angry and bitter at the imminent falling of the sky, lashes out in see-through clothing.

Nah way off the track . Any ‘ socialism’ to be practiced in NZ is far from the ludicrous sorts of scaremongering the far right wing neo liberals try on here.

Its almost embarrassing reading some of thier comments.

Its almost as if they have the ghost of Senator Joe McCarthy whispering over their shoulder,… seriously !… they make themselves look like complete idiots ! , – either that or imported Americans from the neo con factions , either way , no one in NZ takes them seriously.

Because the sort of ‘ socialism ‘ we used to have in NZ was even less ‘ socialist’ than what the Scandinavian country’s have today, – and like them , back in the 1960’s-1970’s we were around the 6th wealthiest country per head of population on the planet. Now , – under neo liberalism, – we have slipped at one point 32nd ,- behind Mexico… and at another point – behind Albania !!! A former Soveit Bloc nation !!!

Brittle, fragile, transparent, feeble, foolish, empty, prematurely triumphant. Hi there Ian, I’ll be your reality check.

Bill has been there a long time and he is still inexperienced.

    • Do you not remember J Key after he became PM.

He would be asked a question by a journalist and he often couldn’t answer it..
It became an embarrassment for him and it got to the stage where he said he would not answer until he had been briefed on the subject..ie, the next day.

No one knows all the answers, least of all, politicians.

  4. Labour activists have been re-structuring Nat hoarding for yonks! No news here.

    • Indeed… I think its because of the shoddy effort put in by the Nat guys that the Labour guys have to step in and show them how its done… and as for the hoardings, well we’ll leave that up to Bill English and the housing allowance people…

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this story is that a mainstream news site has run an article about Ardern and co erecting the National billboard.

Shows you how far left our mainstream media is when they run the same stories as a far left blog site.

She’s real. Got good manners, not awkward, very likeable, empathetic, and pretty cool. She’s a lot like Key in my opinion, and his likeability was great for us when it came to the world stage and dealing with other leaders, so it’s a very important thing. Raw competence isn’t enough, being charismatic and having good social skills is very important when it comes to leaders. I won’t vote for her but I can see why people will, and like Helen she’ll be a leader I can respect even if I don’t agree with everything she does or says or believes. The election just got much less interesting for me, cause it looks like either way we’re going to get a stable moderate government. And I realise there’s plenty in there to sneer at so go right ahead

I think there’s a shitload of disappointed left-wingers currently, Andrew Little I could see him changing things up, Ardern not really, it’s going to be a continuation of MOR politics.
