The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

Have a good weekend all – stay warm…
Thanks, Rob.
Suburbs are the energy future, if we take to hydrogen fueled cars, as home become net producers of energy from solar panels, wind, etc. Now of course, this is all a fictional argument, but I just can’t believe that economic stress from petrol prices would not reduce travel times, and global population food necessity would mean much of the space use by solar would be given over to protein production. The pressure for building heights to rise, the heat savings from flats (heating being one of the major contributors to energy costs), and the cost of building all that solar and hydrogen infrastructure. Anyway my two cents.
Watching the nbl semifinals and final, should be a saints versus giants final.
“Well the wicked king of clubs awoke
And it was to his queen turned
His lips were laughing as they spoke
His eyes like bullets burned…
Mr Mudd and Mr Gold
They voted club the day’s commander
Gave him an army face and number
All but the outlaw jack of diamonds
And the aces in the sky…”
mmmm a bed of seared coals with a sprig of rata on top……..
“Jono and Ben at Ten” (TV3) had some hilarious moments tonight. Highly recommend checking out the interview with the Pakeha Party … tears of laughter!
A return to violent gardening with wrecking bar……………..
Weather permitting a tutetute in the garden day for me too Rosie and if I’m feeling particularly energetic I may start the karo hedge’s short back and sides….or perhaps not.
A good thing for you that you are at the trimming stages of your hedges’ life. We are at the beginning, hence the need for the wrecking bar. We are planting up 20 metres of the section in wind tolerant hedge plants. Hopefully that will be the end of shoulder jarring work. The rest is all going to be raised beds, a vege garden and a herb garden, made from broken down pallets that we’ve been scrounging from businesses who would otherwise be throwing them out.
Enjoy your day in the garden:-)
