There are some amazing people out there, to name a few. Thoughts go out to the mum in isolation that informed that her 23yr old son had scarpered from his COVID hotel. Imagine the emotion of doing that to one of your children. She is a hero Same for those volunteer health workers coming to Auckland’s aid to reduce the stress and work load of those amazing health workers we have. I hope the workers are well treated in where they stay and their meals are of a top restaurant quality.

Disgraceful reporting on RNZ (and probably elsewhere) re todays supermarket attack. Consider how this incident would be reported had the attacker been pakeha, maori or pacific islander.

How. was it reported on RNZ Pat? Didn't hear it

"terrorist attacks'. Isis inspired Sri Lankan stabs supermarket shoppers…compare that to the reporting from a similar Dunedin incident some months ago. Both have mental health issues but only one is a 'terrorist'

When the PM makes that statement publicly it is impossible for the Press not to report the fact.

It isn't fair. Why doesn't the Government allow me to claim the subsidy on PHEVs for this car? They are being quite unreasonable. I want one! I want one! I want to be like an Auckland lawyer or suchlike.

What kind of an EV can go only 12 kilometres on a full battery charge? Just another ICE toy for the boys that can travel at 315 km/h and do a 100km/h in under 3 seconds.

It will do well in New Orleans or New York…….or Kumeu.

You are quite right of course.

However as a fantasy to take our minds off what has happened in New Zealand today it works rather well wouldn't you say?

The Covid situation in Australia is perilous in some states, and the debate over vaccination rates vs infection and hospitalisation/mortality numbers is loud and will only get louder. And this has direct implications for our future direction.

    An interesting thread to read.
