Before you bag him, give it a go yourself, it’s harder than it looks.

It’s a little known fact that Spock took years to perfect the Vulcan salute and sparked more than his fair share of diplomatic interplanetary incidents during that time.

Yes, under National we shall all ‘Live long and Prosper’

Big up’s to AYB for helping to get the message out!

Sorry Jonny dude, I think you’re a bit confused. That sign means “Take me to your leader” not “I’m a hip happening with it leader.”

Wow you must be getting desperate for things to bag John Key on. A photograph captures him holding his hand up, oh no. Call the press.

By the way, the Vulcan salute is very clearly done with the “V” between the middle and ring finger not the pinkie and ring finger as shown in your photo. But it is nice to see you guys focusing on the really important issues.

“I think you’re a bit ‘confused'” – no, thats only when Mike Williams gets caught out.
as Phil says the ‘V’ sign means “live long and prosper” based upon a blessing gesture used by the kohanim (Jewish) during the worship service.
But nice to see the PC lefties respecting cultural diversity

Hope he’s looking out for those Klingons on his starboard bow!

I sense a new trend at The Standard: Frivolous Fridays, a la John Tamihere & Willie Jackson.

[lprent: feels like it. I particularly liked the peerless revue earlier.]

do none of the right wing trolls realise that responding to a joke post as if it were serious just makes them look sad?

    Klingons on his starboard bow!

    Nice.

Unfortunately I didn’t make it up myself, it’s a direct quote from “Star-trekking across the universe” along with other great one liners such as:

“We come in peace – shoot to kill”

    and my personal favourite:

“You canna change the laws of physics”

    Star Trekking

    My fave lines are

“It’s worse that than that he’s dead Jim” and “It’s life Jim but not as we know it”

I’m still trying to decide which mostly applies here…

Yeah, no. Spock is cool! JKey is not worthy!
