"Then your judicial review will totes succeed." So, again, your concern is not the right or wrong but whether the government gets away with it. I get the impression that drives most of your commentary here.
"Tracey Martin has been talking to some schools, Kelvin Davis to others. " Davis has stated publicly he has been talking to them in his capacity as a constituent MP. Hipkins has stated it is the MoE doing the talking. What is Martin up to? "Especially when...
"it’s more that when National and their mouthpieces allege incompetence," I'd say you don't have to support any political party to spot Hipkins and Davis as political corpses. The just released Cabinet Paper is going to provide more fun.
Good story Anon. Have you seen the Cabinet Paper that has just been released on the changes? I'm reading through it and there has been some big porky pies told.
"From yesterday. That has no legs, because it’s as you said. a “hit”, not a substantive criticism." I disagree. But even so, are you saying that as long as the media doesn't notice, incompetence is ok?
How is complaining about Davis' behaviour acting in bad faith? Again it sounds like you implying a threat. And which schools have been approached by Tracy Martin? And why are either Martin or Davis engaging with the schools if Hipkins says he can't because...
Why not? Surely the decision about their future will be made in an impartial manner? (Chuckle).
Hilarious. National expose an Associate Minister favouring two PS's over another, all in his own electorate, and you call it 'dishonest' and 'treating education like a political football'. Let's be clear, Davis is in serious trouble with this, and ...
No, she didn't. She asked about 'other associate ministers of education'. It was a question that, if allowed to go forward, may well have embarrassed her own minister! But how are going with that news coverage Anon?
So you accept it was a train wreck, but you just don't care? Or you don't think it was a train wreck because no-one else wrote about it? Mmmm “…that’s why there is no news coverage about them. ” https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/education/101433659/charter-...

Here's today's episode https://www.parliament.nz/en/watch-parliament/ondemand?itemId=198357. Another wreckage fro Davis.
"You would it be fair to say you support National?" I have voted and supported across the political spectrum. Today I trust none of them. I had thought the Greens had at least some integrity, and then this https://thespinoff.co.nz/politics/05-02-2018/my-...
You were so quick to answer you missed my edit! Didn't realise I had struck such a nerve.
You should watch the coverage. It's a wreckage. And it's not about 'eliciting' anything, it's about making government members look like fools. The only reason yesterday didn't get worse was because Mallard was kind. But Kaye in particular really put a hit ...
I agree with some of those suggestions, but in reality the biggest problem has been the failure to plan by local councils, aided and abetted by inept governments. That has led to a shortfall of housing, which pushes up prices and makes housing unaffordable...
and...the housing mess, and yes it is a mess, didn't just appear under national's watch. This is a failure of successive governments, and it isn't going to be fixed anytime soon.
One of the first things she needs to do is lift the governments performance in the House. Yesterday was a trainwreck for Peeni Henare (https://www.parliament.nz/en/watch-parliament/ondemand?itemId=198293), Willie Jackson (https://www.parliament.nz/en/watch...
...and now he's suing her (surprise, surprise), which gives him even more attention!
"What principle are the Greens selling? Be specific." Was that addressed to PR? I wouldn't say the greens are selling their principles, more likely just giving them away. Anyway, see if this helps: "Power corrupts. It corrupts principle and it can corrupt ...
"Power corrupts. It corrupts principle and it can corrupt your own heritage. The Greens, in government for the first time, are finding this out the hard way." https://www.newsroom.co.nz/2018/01/30/79601/the-brendan-horan-never-again-bill Who cares what ...
I met David Lange on a number of occasions, and he would have made a terrific stand up comic. His sharpness of wit was seriously entertaining. I was genuinely saddened to see him so unwell in his latter months and years.
"Your persistent trolling could be seen as a form of dirty politics, at a petty level, but that’s different to what Weka stated." Anon is a petulant bully, but he does at times reach a modest standard of humour, although I'm not convinced it is intentional...
"Rawshark can be both those things." I don't disagree.
"Hacked (theft does not apply – get your crimes right) emails also featured in The Paradise Papers etc. Exposing wrongdoing is a absolute defence against such charges, as the bloody nose Hager gave the Crown and Police should surely have informed you." Oh ...
"It was vicious, bitter, stupid, snide politics at its worst, but it wasn’t even close to the stuff documented in Dirty Politics." True. But (and do not read this as a defence) then the information about DP came from stolen emails, so I guess it's pot/...
"Lots of people use the term to mean whatever they want. " True. This definition seems about right to me http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-some-examples-of-dirty-politics.htm#didyouknowout.
Curran herself described it as 'dirty politics'. But to be fair she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Yes, true that. Perhaps the answer is an independent honours/titles committee, with no (declared) political affiliations?
It's not knighthoods I have a problem with. It's wealthy business and sports people receiving them, when so many do so much more for society with little or no recognition.
Personally I don't think he should have received a knighthood in the first place, but some of the reaction has been near hysterical, and it just encourages him.
