The supporters of NZF demanded that the UN not be allowed to "dictate" what we should do. Expect that "the opt out" clause is to appease that minority group. (Growing respect for Marc Daalder eh?)
OK Thanks Incognito. Will do better next time.
So soon? Have they been told already or is it that they are anticipating the downside of Seymour's folly?
Where did my post go? Will Simeon Brown apologise for lying to the House or for incompetence? Marc Daalder reports: On Thursday afternoon, after the grid operator released a notice advising there was a risk of low power supply the next morning, Brown ...
Marc Daalder writing for Newsroom has a brilliant fact filled explanation of the energy supply "problems." Brown should be shamed for using his misinformation about gas etc for political gains. (There is still more than enough gas available but usage has ...
The NZ Initiative with Johnson at the wheel while colluding with the Minister of Ed, has succeeded in running the NZ education "reform." Laura Walters outlines how the capture came about: While there was no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Johnston or the ...
Be great if JAG filmed it all?
James Chapman has been labouring on about phonics for close on 40 years inspite of evidence against full on phonics
So that is where the Reading "Reform" came from! The Government’s education policy reform has striking parallels to those put forward by researcher Michael Johnston and right-wing think tank the New Zealand Initiative. A single mandated "Reform" is not a ...
Note that the Chatham trip was organised a month ago and that the access to this electorate is not easy.
Surprise! Auckland Watercare Dodgy. Brenard Hickey On the ball again: Simeon Brown's deal to carve Watercare out of Auckland Council is vague about the Crown's backing of Watercare's bonds & S&P is warning of rating downgrades costing Aucklanders many ...
Steve hits my nail on the head and hopefully nails the lid on the Luxon coffin.
I read somewhere today that Seymour was proposing to cut fresh fruit and vegetables and instead use tinned fruit and tinned beans. (Can't remember where.)
When asked Luxon said their plans will be fully funded into the future. Oops. Later he said maybe some will not be fully funded. (He had much of Pharma not being fully funded by Labour.)
Bishop must be hurting re the response to the Fast-trackBill. But Bishop did say a very crucial element of the Bill could be changed. That’s who makes the final decision. In the legislation as currently written, an expert advisory panel reviews ...
I bet ERO would be very pissed to be instructed to be sent to a school because they were not following the the no-phone rule. And the punishment such a crime will be....?
I think that Bishop's speeches take aim at the RMA and how much cost is added to projects because of RMA requirements. Hence the Legislation for Fast Tracking.
Perhaps we should consider the implication of a planned new toilet in San Francisco. Planned cost $1.7 million. Multiple agencies to be consulted. Months in the process. Rethink replan cost $200 thousand. Perhaps that is where Bishop got his idea. https://...
Wonder if that system of + - of approval will be published. Last time Luxon was behind Hipkins. And now?
Poll results out tonight TV1
Thanks Visubversa. I have just looked at the RSE quickly and will return to it tomorrow. Will look to see if there is a connect between the survey questions and what is actually taught in lessons. I hope that the glossary is just a reference to be informed...
Thank goodness we have Mark Mitchell to clear up crime in NZ. Armed robbers storm Michael Hill Jeweller store, use hammers to smash cabinets at Auckland mall. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/emergency-services-responding-to-aggravated-robbery-at-west-...
Refreshing ideas Sanctuary.
What a silly survey for Family First. Are Primary School kids taught" that they can "choose their gender" . I would say they aren't and shouldn't be. However if the question was, "Should a Primary School child who has anxieties about gender, be offered ...
Hope there is an appeal, but of course the Government will delay until the Bill is before the House. The Waitangi folk are probably right that there is no research and that the repeal is based on heresay. So it is with other Government actions so far.
So true Adrian. In the UK the Government has steadily turned Public Hospitals over to American Private Hospitals. Specially sold off are the richer Units leaving the poorer areas just so much poorer. And the USA has the highest $ per head cost on Health ...
Remember during the 90s how the then National Government cut the Health system with, I believe, the intention of bringing in Private profit making hospitals to "prop up" a "failing" Public Health System? Well. They are at it again. Leaked document reveals ...
Thanks Stephen. We have no cats but a couple stroll through as though they own the place. However, the sparrows who usually fly by or squat on nearby roofs are absent. I went on a 19 km bike ride today and watched out and saw but one. (I live in Blenheim ...
Sparrows. Lately the usually prolific sparrows have disappeared. Bread tossed on the lawn stays until it rots. Has anyone else lost their sparrows. If they have died out then that would be a serious warning about food chains etc.
I ended mine with "Cease and Desist."
And funny how Seymour has managed to get more kids back to school with a plan about sicknes V attendance. No surprises there. https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/04/17/too-sick-for-school-govts-new-advice-for-assessing-a-sniffle/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=...
